A Couple Questions
I am making my first BF2 Map (I have made about 6 BF1 maps) and noticed all of the new stuff. One of those things is the use of layers. On the BASE layer, there are the normal 4 cps, and the 4 textures. Now the only mode I have for this new map in conquest... sooo what layer should I be working on? (Like putting objects, cps, and editing the terrain) I also wanted to know like... when you want to add lights and stuff... are there special steps? I started this map and my Zeroe editor started freaking out with lights and stuff (Like I added a light, then next time I came, it was gone... and so were all the objects, then I loaded it again, the lights were back, the objects were back, but I couldn't select the lights and they werent on the list... weeeeeeird)

Re: A Couple Questions
CP's and Vehicles should go in the conquest layer. Everything else can go in the Base layer. I'm not sure about the lights. Maybe an error in the munge, you can use the error log to see what's wrong.

Re: A Couple Questions
Isn't the base layer universal to all modes? I would think anything common across all modes would go there, then anything mode-specific would go in the mode's layer. Maybe I'm misreading, but it seems like some are saying certain things go in such-and-such layer without mentioning this.

Re: A Couple Questions
You are correct. Everything in the base layer is automatically loaded in every mode, every era. Other layers (like conquest or ctf) are only loaded during their specific mode. This is how the devs make the maps look different depending on what era/mode you're in, and it's vital to keep, say, the capture the flag stuff out of the conquest mode and vice versa.MercuryNoodles wrote:Isn't the base layer universal to all modes?
