How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.
ive been working on this for some time and wanted to post pictures when i finished the deltasquad but because it takes longer than expected ill open a wiptopic now

Blaster marks(I assume they are blaster marks):
You should make the inner of the marks black. Laser bolts are hot so the armor is burned there. The edge of the mark is somewhat more exposed now so it would receive more wear->maybe some scratches.
Render:
Adding a backlight and maybe a colored, lighter/easier light on the side will make the render look 10 times better.
CodaRez wrote:*btw, are the textures scratch made or imported?*
of course scrtachmade!
about the blastermarks: you are right, they are a bit too "flat" i guess ill redo them
about the render; i just wanted to show the specularmap, i rendered it with 3dsmax (trial) and have no real idea how to add lights and stuff there
0.o Shiny. Are they lowpoly enough to work good with SWBF2's engine though? Also, if you wanted to save memory you could make the backpacks addons and just use a different addon/overwrite texture for each commando.
EDIT: nvm, forgot about the sniper pack/AA shells.
ANDEWEGET wrote:Why did you render it in Max? SI can render this things as good as Max.(Even if it is only for a small preview its worth the time)
no, it doesnt -that was the problem. i wanted to test the specmap in xsi and when i rendered i couldnt see any changes though i edited the specularmap and that was why i used max then

OFFTOPIC: Dev, did you get my pm?
yes but i dont know how put modes in RC xD, i only know get models from it, but i promise to Mav , stop with porting work i am trying be legal for like to Mav
My word! These look like they were from RC; but looking at differences, I know that they are not imported. So I must say that this is the best looking stuff. Good job I say! Also, if those textures are made from scratch, (I doubt it though) then that is the best job I have ever seen anyone do. What you did was shocking to me.
