Tumble Control
Hi, um, I'm absolutely new to having an Account on Gametoast. I have come to the forums before and I know that some of you r very intelligent people. To name a few, the Iron Man dude (not sure what his name is) and penguin.
I have been looking and looking and looking but I CAN'T FIGURE OUT TUMBLE CONTROL.
Can somebody plz help?
And I'd also like help with making an orbital bombardment that works like the boeing bomb.
Can somebody PLZ help?

It's only been 20 minutes, that double post/bump/caps lock spam wasn't necessary. If you haven't looked at the Site Rules yet, I'd suggest doing so. As a future note, if you don't seem to make any sense or know what you're even talking about, no one is going to bother answering your questions.

Re: Tumble Control
*starts laughing maniacally* Me? Of course I know what I'm talking about Mr. I'm in a bad mood. Are you not at fault for ever being at all impatient? Of course I know the site rules! I also apologized, did I not? And, I'm not alloqed to play SWBF2 on the computer at home. And I kind of wanted to finish BEFORE I had to leave. To late now.
+ It isn't Spam if it has a reason =P
And P.S. Try NOT passing on your bad mood.

Spam is always spam, and double posting is against the rules you said you read. Preemptive apologies are not carte blanche to post whatever you want.
There are at least a couple topics that talk about how to set up an orbital strike weapon, I believe there's even a topic where someone has one set up and downloadable.
And just a quick 30-second perusal of the "ODF parameters" doc, which is linked to in the FAQ (at psych0fred's page, and mentioned in numerous topics), tells me this:
Tumble is a controlled movement parameter just like running or sprinting. Look at the default unit .odf (com_inf_default.odf) in the data/common/odfs folder to see how those are set up.
And a word of advice, talking back to staff won't get you very far.

Re: Tumble Control
Finally, someone who's angry for an obvious reason.
I know talking back won't get me very far, but have you not done the same ever?
I suck at navigating Gametoast and I really would appreciate it if you could link me, if possible.
Thank you, Mr. Maveritchell, I'm sure I can put this information to use somehow.
Tip for the future:
I asked the question, so I obviously don't know the answer. Most people don't have the time to scroll through every topic on the site. Every1 is not as smart as you, and they probably never will be. Please do not take offese to these words, you may just find them wise.

Then how do you know we do? Most of the time we'll help you, but the sure way to do something is to look for it yourself.Tourny wrote:Tip for the future:

To totally counter my previously stated statement, here's an example of an orbital strike beacon: CLICK

TY FINGERFOOD!
I don't expect you to be anything more than a normal person. But there r like, zillions of people in the world, not to mention affiliated with this site. The usual result is that you get responded to in 5 seconds by some random dude passing through.
YOu have made my HELPFUL PEOPLE list, fingerfood.

Nope, not online.Tourny wrote:I know talking back won't get me very far, but have you not done the same ever?
That is how he and the people like him got that smart. You get out of modding the time and effort you put into it.Tourny wrote:Most people don't have the time to scroll through every topic on the site. Every1 is not as smart as you, and they probably never will be.
Woah, slow down. There are only 6-7 billion people in the world and almost all of them have never heard of Gametoast. You should expect a wait of days for responses to your posts. Gametoast is slowly dying with the aging of SWBF, but it never had extremely fast response times (in terms of answers). Topics tend to average out at 1 post per 10 reads. If your topic has something like 40 reads and only your post, then it might be time to think of how to reword your post to make the readers understand it better, so in turn they can help you better (assuming that they know the answers anyway).Tourny wrote:there r like, zillions of people in the world, not to mention affiliated with this site. Re: Tumble Control
I'm not trying to be intentionally unhelpful. When I point you in the direction of something, it's so that you won't feel like the correct way to solve something is to ask for a direct link to everything. You'll come to realize that as you learn, you'll have a number of questions (I know I did), and not only will learning to search make future searches easier, but learning to search well is more effective, by-and-large, than waiting on someone to answer you (especially if it's a question with a very esoteric answer).Tourny wrote:I suck at navigating Gametoast and I really would appreciate it if you could link me, if possible.
Your best resources for getting questions answered or assets found are the following threads:
FAQ/Everything you need thread
Links to Maps/Mods/Sources thread
or the Released assets forum.
And no, I never talk back to authorities, especially when I'm new somewhere. You will note that disrespect of the staff is against the rules and will net you a warning/s in the future.

Re: Tumble Control
I'm sorry guys. I really really am. I just got lit up when the first thing I ever hear from anyone is something rude and accusing. Two wrongs still do not make a right. I promise to be good, Admins. I just might need a little help along the way...
Edit
What would the speed setting be for an average clonetrooper walking?
If none of you guys know I suppose I could find out for myself, but I'd like someplace to start from.

Re: Tumble Control
Check rep_inf_default_sniper to know what lines need to be edited, then check com_inf_default located in BF2_ModTools\data_***\Common\odfs for default values.

Re: Tumble Control
From the com_inf_default.odf
But, really, it took me about 30 seconds to look that up.
Code: Select all
MaxSpeed = 7.0 // base forward speed
MaxStrafeSpeed = 5.25 // base right/left speed
MaxTurnSpeed = 5.0 // base turn speed

Re: Tumble Control
lol I figured out I could just check right as I clicked "post" but since the admins hate it when people apologize, I decided to play along XD
