Want to know about a game? Should we buy that new upcoming release? Post your thoughts on new games and ones you have...so others can know whether to buy it or not! All non-SWBF, non-modding topics should go here.
In all seriousness, though, I agree with what you're getting at. I didn't really get what the whole "point" of the Kinect game will be. They showed podracing...space battles...ground battles...rancor battles...things from the movies and things not from the movies...it seemed like sort of a catch-all Star Wars game.
Twilight_Warrior wrote:First, let's get this out of the way: While SWBF3 would be nice, and we would welcome it with open arms and a very large cheer followed by an even larger sigh of relief, none of us are legitimately speculating an announcement and neither should you. Don't get your hopes up. Again.
Lucasarts is hurting. Did anyone hear of LEGO: Star Wars III making a surprising amount of sales? Me neither. I mean, it sold, yeah, but it's not exactly "most popular game of the year material. The Force Unleashed also failed to meet expectation. LA has two confirmed productions right now: Star Wars Kinect and TOR, and they're putting everything they have into TOR. If TOR flops, it might just be the end of LA as a major publisher. I dont blame them for focusing their funds on it, they've already invested millions of dollars trying to make it the best they can.
Please dont turn this into a SWBF3 speculation thread. It's not happening this year.
The name of the new Nintendo console made me laugh hard. It's like they had a meeting where the main subject was to find even sillier ways to pronounce the word "Wii".
Anyone know of a place where I could view Nintendo's presentation? (Gamespot hosted them all in previous years, but I don't know if they are this year)
The Wii U looks...interesting...but has seriously the worst name for a console EVER.
I guess the Wii U (no u) is alright. It certainly has the potential to be a pretty good console, with 1080p and all. I'm a bit upset that they didn't show anything for it that will become an actual game (except for maybe New Super Mario Bros. Mii) but this conference was more about showing it off than announcing titles.
Games I care about:
Wii U (Just call it Utopia. Look into your heart Nintendo.)-
NSMBM
Smash Bros. 4
3DS-
Starfox 64 3D
Luigi's Mansion 2 (multiple mansions woot)
Super Mario 3D
Smash Bros. 3D
Pokedex 3D (loving it so far)

Haha yes. That.
I'll post back later when I catch up with all E3 stuff and Nintendo's. Wii U name is....disappointing. They could have come up with a better one. The controller I like, but I feel that it needs a redesign to make it slimmer and sexier. Right now it looks bulky and childlike.

Hidden/Spoiler:
Obvious resemblance.
I'm actually glad that they're at least going HD now, though I get the feeling they have a different sense of HD than we do.

360-
Halo: CE Anniversary
ME3
MW3 (that one I care about watching it suck)
PC-
BF3
Fixed for my preferences. I don't have enough confidence in 343 to watch them just create three more games based off of Chief's story. If it were just 4, I'd be okay. But five and six makes me nervous. Also MW3 made me lul. Hard.
Finished up Nintendo's conference. I liked it. Very happy about Smash being on both. At first I was shakey about the controller, but seeing it. I see the possibilities and very excited seeing games that haven't been able to make it to a Nintendo system for some time and the sounds of a great online experience.
The.... Wii U? You guys have got to be joking. What the gametoast are they thinking? What fresh hell is this? I mean, Why not go back to titles that make sense? You know what the Gamecube was? It was a cube, THAT YOU PLAYED GAMES ON! Its that simple.

I understand marketing wise why they went with that name, but I do agree it's very strange. More strange than Wii. I was hoping for current, stream, some variant of Ultra NES. Even UWii sounds better. It doesn't roll off that tongue.
But at the end of the day, if it plays great games, it could be named Sillwillysupercomputer for all I care.

I concur :plokoon:
It looks cool though, I dont know if I felt the need for an HD system. To me, graphics only get you so far. The EAW mod RAW just came out, and from what I hear, its a bunch of flash and glam.
I just hope they get some good titles. I dont fear for Nintendo's future though, not like I fear for LAs future.
