.LVLs are tiny!

Post by jedimoose32 »

All right, now I know everyone is going to freak out and maybe not help me, but... I stopped a munge accidentally.

And now when I try to run my map BF2 either freezes or gives me a FATAL error. I looked in my map's addon folder and guess what: QZX.lvl (my map 3-letter name is QZX) is about 1 kb, and rep.lvl is 5 kb.

Here is what BFront2.txt gave me as a debug:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LoadUtil.cpp(1019)
Unable to find level chunk in MISSION.lvl

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LuaHelper.cpp(112)
OpenScript(QZXe_con): script (ec7f05b6) not found

Message Severity: 5
.\Source\GameState.cpp(1283)
Could not open MISSION\QZXe_con.lvl
And here is what popped up at the end of all of my last few munges (comes up when I do "Common" munges):
Hidden/Spoiler:
ERROR[levelpack mission\QZXe_con.req]:Could not open munged\pc\ingame.files for input. DOS reports:

Mysteriously it has hundreds of errors like that except for every single map in BF2 (maybe I need to reinstall the modtools).

Here's what I've tried in order to remedy the problem:

-Normal clean/munge
-Manual clean/munge
-Checked and re-checked all scripts and files that might be causing the problem (to the best of my ability)

Nothing is working, and I've been working really hard for about four months on this map so I'll be pretty ticked off at myself if I can't fix this.

Thanks so much (I hope) in advance.

P.S.: The most recent change that I made to the map was changing the model of the medical droids (I'm not a newbie when it comes to putting new models in though, so...)

Did make sure the munged folders in the mod directory were cleaned out? Can you still open all the files and the map in ZE? I.E. nothings corrupted? Is there a folder for the map in build\worlds?

Those are the only things I can think of right now. Sorry about not being able to be more helpful...

There's nothing wrong with the world-related files. The map opens and appears fine in ZE.

EDIT: Yeah, so I backed up data_QZX, reinstalled the modtools, made a new map under the name of QZX, copied the backed up version back in, and munged everything, and guess what... IT WORKED! And then I played the map and it was default Yavin with no other units but me. So I went back, didn't change anything, but munged the sides again, and now I'm back to where I was before - BF2 just freezes halfway through loading.

I took the liberty of running an external debugger and here is what it came up with from the point where I launched the map, onward.
