for the odf, if there's an/are odf(s) for the assest Capital ships, just copy and paste it/them, then rename them to include the Msh you made, and anything else you need. Shields are easy, in the odf just add the lines
The Max shield is the "health" of the ship's shields, and the Addshield function is the rate that shields regenerate. As for the model, i'm somewhat new to modeling and I'm not sure how to make capital ships work. Someone else will have to help you with hardpoints and such.
