Make an object destroyable with blender

Post by linksith »

Hi, I was just wondering if an object (such as a Republic cruiser) could be made destroyable with blender. I figured if I could make a space ship destroyable it could make the game more interesting.
Thanks for the help.

Destroyable objects are handled through .odf properties. Make an undamaged object and a damaged version of it, then specify in the undamaged object its .odf that it's a destructible object and reference the damaged object in that .odf as well. (can't remember the exact code lines, you'll probably be able to look that up in the FAQ, or comparing it with stock examples, I'll look it up too)

Its probably a good idea to check it with stock odf's, especially ones from the campaign. Maybe try the big prop in the mygeeto assets which you destroy in the campaign.
