More info please
We already have several step by step tutorials in the FAQ/Everything You Need Thread, look under the Skinning section.ArkAngel wrote:WILL SOMEONE PLEAAAAAASE give me a STEP by STEP instruction on how to skin? like NO details left out, I want to solve this problem FOR GOOD.
If you're just requesting a new tutorial then you should post in the All-Purpose Request Thread.
What kind of details were left out that you think you need?
We need more information about your situation since there may be something else entirely crashing your map.
What did your munge log or BFront2.log say if anything regarding errors?

Re: Skinning Help PLEASE!!!
There were no errors... and I'm sure that it was the skinnning process because I munged before I attempted reskinning and it worked, and after it didn't. I think what caused it not to work was when I copied the rep folder to the _build/sides folder and replaced files, it may have gone askew.

Pay attention to the tutorial's steps
Why did you copy the rep folder to _BUILD\Sides? If the tutorial you used told you to do this then it's not right and you should disregard that tutorial and resort to the ones linked in the FAQ/EYN Thread.ArkAngel wrote:...I think what caused it not to work was when I copied the rep folder to the _build/sides folder and replaced files, it may have gone askew.
rep is a default side name with a folder already in _BUILD\Sides by default upon new world creation, you shouldn't need to do anything in that location if you're modifying the rep side.

Re: Skinning Help PLEASE!!!
ahh my bad I meant to say "replace all files" instead of copy.
YESS OMG I followed the first guide, and it works, but 5 seconds after the map loads, it crashes
. At least it kinda worked

Re: Skin crashing map?!
Nothing showed up on the error log other than ep3trooper has 1032 vertices and no collision geometery
And I did uncheck RLE compression.

Re: Skin crashing map?!
That's your munge log, not your error log. Play the game using the BF2_Modtools.exe and then post the contents of the "BFront2.log" file it generates.ArkAngel wrote:Nothing showed up on the error log other than ep3trooper has 1032 vertices and no collision geometery

Re: Skin crashing map?!
when I try to launch it, it says "this appliation has failed to start because binkw32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Should I just reinstall mod tools? Will I loose all my maps?
