I am unsure if this problem has come up anywhere else, I looked and found nothing so I'm asking here.
I wanted to try and start skinning with GIMP. I have done it before with Photoshop, but unfortunately I don't own it. Anyway I was trying to open a .tga file with GIMP, and I got an error. It said ".tga file is not a valid Win32 application"
??? Photoshop has never had a problem with that. And I know GIMP is supposed to open these as many people on here use it to open .tga files.
What's wrong? Did I do something that I shouldn't have done? What can I do to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Re: GIMP and .tga problem
Personally I have never encountered that problem, but most Win32 error messages are based on Registry components, maybe if you download the Win32 Error Tool it might help, although I'm really not sure whats happening, what TGA are you opening, it might be encrypted or corrupt. : | Soz if this doesn't help mate
EDIT: Or try this link ?

Sounds to me like he tried changing the properties to open with GIMP 2, that's what happened to me when I was hoping for a nice shortcut. You have run the GIMP application and open any files from there.

This method worked.AgentSmith_#27 wrote:You have run the GIMP application and open any files from there.
Thank you everyone for the fast answers, opening the .tga after I open GIMP is apparently how it works then.
Thanks again!

I dont think that is the probelm.
I can right click -> Open With -> GIMP and it works. Or even open though the program.
