Sweet xwingguy! You found out how to get the turrets/guns to stick to the frigates!?!? Also Xwingguy is right the flyable frigates don't have a real propose in the game. And the reasons i can think of are too big and take to long to get it to work. Plus i don't think anyone wants this map to be delayed 4 one small thing.

Such a program would be Wink ( http://www.debugmode.com/wink/ ). It is completely free. I used it for the Loading screen HowTo video. Though, I don't think you should waste time making videos of text. Just post the text, if you planned on posting anything.xwingguy wrote:...I could get some freeware that could record longer than 30 sec video and another program to convert the video into a usable filetype that doesn't self-destruct in 15 days...

Yes, but flyable frigates are new and cool. I hope there will be a map with them one day.xwingguy wrote:flyable frigates is most likely out. It's not a practical job to do in the first place, has many drawbacks, and really, won't be used that much anyway.
But the frigates will be animated anyway to be on constant move.

You don't HAVE to pay for FRAPS, and you can record all you want, however unless you decide to register (buy) the full version (or crack it - not that I would condone such a thing
) you will be left with a "watermark" at the top of the video that you record..
It's not really that intrusive, so you could easily use the shareware, and never register and be wuite content with that.
The only problem with FRAPS is that it saves to your Hard Drive in UNCOMPRESSED .avi format. This takes up alot of space (depending on the length of the clip). I would suggest recording the video, then converting it to xvid or divx to cut down on the size.. It makes a HUGE difference. Then delete the original. You may lose a slight bit of quality in the conversion, but not enough that it should matter.
I would love to see some of XwingGuy's proof of concept done in divx or xvid so we could see the progress. Even if it was just some guy running through the corridors of one of the cruisers, but I won't badger him for that yet....

ahh, i'm back again and is suprised on the progress so far, that rebel commando is really nice, i might have lost some info, but a quick reading on around 20 pages would help me cover it up.
i really hope the movie idea will be made real, and if filming in corridors will be done you can use the recon droid for the view, as you just set transparency of the health, aim+++ to 100% and they are almost invisible, but the change into divx will probably remove it completely. just a brainstorm.
keep up the good work
