Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0
the skeleton model is nice. Maybe experiment with normal maps and other shaders to make the bone look very realistic?

He's done well to make it low poly for something that can get high poly relatively fast. A good, tedious bump map and soft edges will work well for making the bones look like bones.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0
thanks for your thanks for your comments (specially minologuy, i started modeling because of your great starshipmodels)
@yankfan:i made it from scratch but used a (somehow weird but when i noticed when it was too late) blueprint for the skull and used various pictures of skeletons as reference for the exact shape of the bones
@ryukaji:can you say exactly what wrong with them?
@minilogoguy18:i have no experience concerning shaders (beside bumpmaps) but i think they dont work on units in battlefront
@Frisbeetarian:it was exactly my intention to make it "lowpoly", the texture is the most important part to make the bones look like bones (and i hope i can manage this)

Im thinking it will look better once you texture it. It is actually the eyes that were funny but once you give it a texture it will be fine

i think the toughest part of the skeleton is going to be collision and animation just cause it probably look awkward giving regular unit animation to a skeleton

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0
I really wanna get back into modding this game, I don't think that anyone really believed it but I did have the exporter working for 6.01, I just gotta recreate the bug that did it. I never cared to make characters for this game though since even for games that won't weld vertexes that are close together I tend to cram too much detail into it, causing stuff like that. Since it's a showcase for whatever I'll just post it so that people don't think that I can only model rigid things... =p

EDIT: For above post, skeletons and robots are easier to rig since they don't have to deform, he can just set all the weights of each bone to the corresponding bone on the unit skeleton.

Nice kitbash!
And you also remodeled parts of the AT-TE, couldn't tell until I saw the wireframe. Tis epic.

Did you texture the arms of the magnetic holders? I'd fix up the top of that LAAT-c as well, here's psych0fred's picture for a reference:

That is cool
. It looks like it could have been a design to come straight out of the movies.

the "small" modelchange looks really coll, but
is it supposed to fire missiles from its engines?
and doesnt the laat/i normally have missiles ?
