But then again, I found a picture from the Ultamate cross sections book, that showed that they where Tractor beam Targeting sensors
No one seems to know for sure.
I find it odd the blueprint, only points to one globe with that label, and not both.

The same thing that happens to most of the folks whose plans are bigger than either their time or ability. The project gets dropped and you move on. Xwingguy probably ran out of time rather than ability.Lord Bardar wrote:whatever happened to the guy that was making a Battle of Endor map? I was really looking forward to it, considering there was a DSII which u could fly inside to the reactor.

I considered switching around what was what to make it more accurate, but in the end I decided to leave it. This is primarily because I want to make the level intuitive. People already know what systems look like what in SWBF2, and I don't want to confuse people. I've learned that people rarely like to have to learn something new just to play a mod map; if that happens they tend to either ignore it or dismiss it as a bug. For this same reason I'm not adding in any other special critical systems, which I considered. (With perhaps the exception of a pseudo-critical system I'm thinking about throwing in as part of an Easter Egg.)MercuryNoodles wrote:I was thinking about suggesting you change out the sensor and communication array geometry for what they truely are, though it seems you don't want to go that far with it...

It's not, and I want you to know that I'm not ignoring these things just because I'm lazy. I'm doing everything I can to fit everything I can into this without making this run anything less than smooth (and in MP). If something's missing - if you wanted a DSII or an Executor you could interact with, know that it's only not there because something else is - in this case there's a better battle ambience and more starfighters on the field. It's a very delicate balance.Fingerfood wrote:Great job on it so far. Even if you totally dismiss this post as a "Time and Lag consuming nightmare,"

Yeah, there are still most of the interior critical systems. See above, "making the map feel familiar."Grev wrote:I dont know if you mentioned this, I think you have, but are there going to be the destructible areas inside? Because that removes all space from a space map.
Yep, I've already taken care of this.Lord Bardar wrote:also, i think you already know this, but in the regular space maps, there are usually ships flying around super far from the battle which we obviously can't reach (i'm assuming this is the skybox?), couldn't you just like spam it with Star Destroyers

By most you mean which ones? I wouldn't leave engines or life supportMaveritchell wrote:Yeah, there are still most of the interior critical systems. Life support is still inside; logically, it should be, right? (It is after all an internal system). Engines are no longer destroyable from the inside, though.Grev wrote:By most you mean which ones? It is probably possible, I know Trainmaster611 was going to make the ships able to blow up in his Battle of Coruscant map: http://forums.filefront.com/battlefront ... t-map.htmlobiboba3po wrote:awww oh well, no more cheapness. maybe there should be more destroyable things on the outside? (maybe make it so an entire ship can blow up, or is that too complicated?)

It's practical only if you're working with a ship that has no interior. Any ship in this map without an interior can be destroyed, but that's pretty standard fare for any space map.delta 47 wrote:It is probably possible,
