Revenge of the PC ( CRYSIS )

Post by Lord-Bandu »

The PC strikes back at the Xbox360 and PS3 with a game that will kill Halo3 .

This game is CRYSIS. The 1st game that will utilize DirectX 10 . Meaning better GFX and a 30% better performance.

This game is the most beuatiful thing I have seen in a game. It looks absolutley awesome.

Check out in game footage here : http://uk.media.pc.ign.com/media/694/694190/vids_1.html

Now , all you Halo fanboys ;) tell me this doesnt raise the bar :D

EDIT- more here http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/index.html

That----looks----incredible.. That game can just use Halo 3 to wipe the floor with!
As for me, I am a HUGE Halo fan! It all depends on if the storyline and gameplay are better than Halo's.. If they are then.. Halo is done for

It isdeed a game and is set to come out winter 2006 ! .

Watch the E3 Showcase video . It has a guy on about these crazy bullets lol . Everything is destructable ... you can knock any tree onto your enemies and kill them ...likewise you can be squashed by a tree :) . You actions changes what happens in the game aswell.

Itll be very replayable.

Also you can get a tank and you can blow a passage throw the jungle with it :D

Off-topic : I am noticing that Microsoft® DirectX® is far from being dominated and beaten by Application Programming Interfaces embedded inside either recent or upcoming Consoles, but I would nevertheless wish to have a look at the Specifications this Crytek® Product will require in order to be executed decently, while knowing it might require a Computer similar to a NEC© WA2500, a DELL© XPS 600 Renegade or a Carri Systems© TwinStation FX60 XFire for running this Task properly...

Since the latest game of the German Crytek studios will require DX10 there won't be a chance to play it without using Windows Vista!

btw: This is also very intersting. It's a comparison of the RL environment some game scenes are based on with the ingame scenes:

Looks IMO incredible. :D

WOW .. At 1st glanse I honestly couldnt decide which was game and which was real life!!! .

It was only the grass in the bottom right picture that gave it away imo.

The top right could be real as far as im concerned. If that was on a post card id have no reason to think it wasnt real life.

Soon , in the future , seeing WONT be believing.

sh4d0wl0rd, now you have mentioned this well-known Visual Comparison featuring both Real-Life scenes and Screen Captures taken from Crysis, I would like to add that I have succeeded in finding two other similar Graphics Files which might interest GameToast members still willing to obtain Demonstrations of Strength coming from Crytek©, and which can be easily viewed below :

These Pics are awesome!!! Now we know why there is a need for SLI- or Crossfire-Technology and Dual-Core-CPUs. And that is not the top of the hill....

Off-topic : As you say, sh4d0wstrik3r, and I equally understand better the real Objectives of the upcoming Quad-Core Central Processing Units conceived by both AMD® and Intel Corporation®, nVidia© Quad-SLI Technology and Quadro FX 4500 X2 Graphics Card, Ageia Technologies© PhysX® Auxiliary Processor, amongst many other ones we will hear about publicly in a short while... :D

If you have enough money for a video card that is good enough, for a CPU that is fast enough and of course for Windows Vista (for which you will need about 4 GB RAM!)...

The're not going to release a game that cant run on at least an above-average computer - they would be in the negatives when it comes to profit. Trust me.

Now they wouldn't! It was the same with FarCry (they game Crytek has produced before): It had very high system requirements fot its time but it was sold extremely often!

Then I guarantee you most people could run it. The average is determined basically by where the largest percent of something lie. So clearly, the largest percent of the population could run far cry, or else they wouldn't have bought it. Lets not get into specifics (such as the fact that once bought you cant return a game), but its safe to say that they will not release a game that cannot be run on, as I said earlier, "at least an above-average computer".

What I mean by at least an above-average computer that any good/decent to excellent computer (which makes up a large percentage of the gaming populus) will be able to run it. Now, being able to run Vista might cause a rift in that average. A very big rift.

WOW... At first I didn't look at what was "real life" and what the game was. I actually thought that the picture from the game was real life...

Off-topic : PvtParts, sh4d0wl0rd, the "Technological Fracture" many persons have talked about, regarding what Microsoft® Windows Vista might lead to, cannot be easily justified, as we mustn't forget that this brand-new Operating System will be provided through about nine Editions, each of these ones owning unique Properties and Features compared to all others, which can be illustrated by both the "Home Basic" and "Ultimate" versions. Indeed, the second one will take advantage of more "Advanced" Security-related characteristics, the Graphical User Interface labelled "Aero", the "Desktop Compositing Engine", amongst other specific features, which implies that the "Home Basic" will have more Common Points with our current Microsoft® Windows XP versions than with the upcoming Vista ones...

If you want to know if your current pc can handle Vista then use Windows Vista Update Advisor:
