its finnaly here! after about 3 weeks of desining, planning, modding, and lots of crashes. i finally have the first part of the six part acadamy saga done. Tatooine Siege is a defensive map which presents a different chalange to either side and to every class. every class on this map is designed to have its own special sort of gameplay, from plain out mauling, to hit and run, to sniping, to skirmishing and even assasination.
here is the storyline:

It is three years since the battle of Endor. Luke Skywalker has returned to his home planet of Tatooine and in the City of Bestine he has started a small jedi acadamy in an attempt to resurect the Jedi Order. Two more years pass before the Imperial Remenant gets word of the assembaling Jedi. The leader of the remenant in the outer rim, Grand Admeral Thrawn, send his second in command, Leutenant Quall, along with a huge company of elite darktroopers and veteran stromtroops to eradicate the jedi order before it can again take root. Within the course of a few hours an Imperial Flatilla of sizes unseen since the fall of alderan surounded the Planet of Tatooine and began an extencive bombardment of the surface. after the smoke cleared a Victory Class Star Destroyer decended near the outskirts of Bestine and landed several thousand troops to eradicate what was left of the jedi. to make matters worse all the senyor jedi were abroad with their padawan leaving only the acadamy students and a few masterless padawan at the acadamy. they along with the local malitia must hold bestine and the acadamy until reinfocements can arrive from the core worlds. will the jedi outlast this desperate assault; or will the order finally become extinct.

ok now that you know the story here are the actual features of the map
-very large map but every part is used
-2 ywings and a gunship that patrol around and engage the victory class destroyer
-new skins for the imperials as well as new units for both sides
-Jedi Students in four variants, unlocked by points, Acadamy (bothan) Junyor (Wookie) Senyor (Human) Padawan (Twi'Lek)
-New awsome lookings darktroopers
-New Luke skin
-A new hero for the imperials, Leutenant Quall, whom i made up and created myself
-lots of urban combat
-two ATAT's and six ATST's to deal with
-more realistic grenades

Senyor Student best used as hit and run/ sabatuer not much health but has force heal harder to play

but whats wrong with the ground texture, i mean are these black stripes supposed to be there?
anyway it looks very promising

Hmm looks pretty good. Though I don't get the black lines either are they meant to be there?

so here we go:
-some floating objects
-already mentioned black lines
-missing sounds

and its not a bug, but i kinda dont like the imperial skins, i mean its nice that you tried to make them more different from default, but now they look as if they came right from pepperland psychodelia or the maze (nothing against this maps, i just dont like fun stuff), it would be better if you would make them white, but pretty dirty (like sandtroppers), the same is about luke

now to the good side:
what i really like is the atmosphere: it has a real siege feeling (i know only a couple of other maps that feel like that)
the other thing is that it is build pretty linear (its a canyon after all :P ), it makes it feel again like a direct imperial assault (with all the bots running in the same direction)
and last but not least: the imperial hero, i like the skin and i like his chaingun which makes him an ultimate killing machine
the DT has the same chaingun, but its again the skin that ruins it all (at least for me), if you would make it look like on your avatar it would be my most favorite thing in this map

all in all, i like this map, however i think it still needs some work

I like the idea of Jedi students fighting to protect an Academy, I don't thnk anyone's done that before. I think those black stripes on he ground are shadows, but I dunno. Also the stormtrooper and darktrooper skins look pretty unique, and the Skywaler skin is definetly...different. This looks really promising. DLing now.

the black lines were supposed to be roads aparently i not very good at doing that and as for luke and the darktoopers/stromtroopers ok ill make new skins and ill get rid of the roads

you can also add novatroopers as some kind of elite class

humm no idea what a novatrooper is but i am currently working on the two other maps for this saga so when im finished with those ill go back to each and correct the little problems in them you can expect an Acadamy map pack one by the end of summer break.

ps whats wrong with the darktrooper anyway? i wanted to give him a newly made look while the rest of the imperial army is battered aka. the imperials have been around much longer then these new troopers

and if you like the skins just keep them, after all its your map, its only me who complains about them looking kinda too colourful for a serious map

hum i mite change the stromtroopers to that. also can i get some other opinions on the map (no offence negah) but i need some other opinions as well before i change anything.

I actually like the stormtrooper skin. It's pretty cool, as is Lt. Quall and his chaingun of death! :emp: I've finished the level and this is what I think.

Direct Imperial attack against the Rebels. If you play as the Rebs, the Empire slowly pushes your team back, and it really has the feel of a siege. Commander Skywalker cuts through the Imps like a knife through warm butter, especially because there's so many of them in a relatively tight area. The idea of Junior and Senior students was good, and I especially liked the dual-bladed guy. The Imperials have the advantage of a couple AT-ATs and AT-RTs and it is quite satisfying to see Jedi students tossed throught the air. The skins are cool, although blue might not be ideal markngs for a desert assault. Lt. Quall, moustache and all, just owns everybody with his chaingun and rebels fall like wheat before him (to quote Gimli). Well-balanced as well, I was able to win either side.

Those roads are really blotchy and I couldn't tell what they were, but good idea. Also, the Stormtroopers and :greeny: should have their health boosted a bit, because they are pretty weak. Jedi don't have any force or throw lightsabers powers, except for Skywalker, which didn't really make sense, even if they are just students. There are plenty of turret spots,but I didn't notice any rebel units with fusion cutters. (Tell me if I'm wrong, I may have overlooked it.) The only other thing I can think of is adding a bit more ammo to the Chainguns.

Wheew, that was a big post. Anyway, great gameplay with only a few little setbacks= 8.5/10 :D

thanks im taking a break from modding atm so you can expect the next map which ,will likely be in space, some time in august.

i see that about a third of all the votes say they didn't like either hero and im gonna guess they didn't like the map either, could one of those people please step up and say exactly how you would like the units/map improved so that when i go back and make a map pack i can make those changes?

Remove those black lines and replace them with the texture your using for the cliffs/mountains/rocks. It'll look much more like roads then.

You could edit the canyon models from BF1 so that they just use one side of the canyon and use those instead of raising the terrain really high.
