Terrain Issue.

Post by RC-1207 »

Okay, so I've finally figured out the basics of mapping, and am in the beginnings of a map. But I've run into a problem. The map involves a base and I added a terrain to use in the base. I put the texture (it is called dea1_bldg_hanger_floor_black.tga) in that base, closed out of Zero Ed. and opened it back up and the texture was gone. I tried putting it in the map's world1 folder and that didn't change anything. The weird thing is, I added a different texture: no problems. Can anyone help me?

I think I experienced the same problem with one of the Mos Eisly textures.

If you have GIMP:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Open GIMP,
Click File, New Project.
Make it 256 by 256.

Now open the texture and copy and paste it into the new project.

Then in the new project:

File, Save As, *blah blah blah*.tga and uncheck RLE compression.

Try the new texture.
That's a little complicated for someone as new as you make urself sound, though. Could you give me the exact name of the texture you tried to use?

It is called "dea1_bldg_hanger_floor_black"
And also, I tried to remove the texture I added before by putting the default yavin back over it, but it didn't change anything. I guess my real question about this is, how do I remove terrain textures?

Select the thumbnail for the texture you want to remove on the right under "Tile", then on the left under "Texture" highlight the texture name(above "Browse") and press Delete then Enter. Right click to erase texture from terrain.
