im not experienced with weaponodfs, i can only think of a sloppy way: give the weapon no muzzleflah and your effect as chargeupeffect, then set the maxpressed time to a really small period.

If it's a slow projectile such as a rocket, you can also rig a trail effect for the ordance with an emitter that fires just once, in place of a discharge effect. Also, the odf line MuzzleFlashEffect does indeed work, but the effect plays from the same place that the ordance originates from, that is the head. I tried to offset the effect enough so that it plays from the barrel, but because the hands in the animation turn just slightly differently than the head, the effect usually ends up off-center anyway. It kind of works, but it's not perfect.

Haven't tried what Duck suggested yet, but it sounds like a good idea. At least the effect would play from the barrel each time.

Thank you very much :) it almost works, except when you hold it down without letting go, the effect loops.
