Map Crash due to (I think) sky
I am making a map,and I went to test it and when I spawned, it CTD. I think it is cause of sky. What Tatooine sky would I put in there to get the one from Mos Eisley?

If you have custom sides check those first. That's almost always the cause of a spawn crash.

No,
I don't have custom sides. I haven't even changed the heroes yet.

What changes did you make to the ***.sky file?

I didn't change it at all. I deleted it from the folder, and added the TAT sky files.

You have no .sky file? That's why your map is crashing, it's trying to read MODID.sky in your MODID.req file, and finding nothing. If you're going to make a copy of another world's sky file, you have to at least rename it so that it uses your world's 3-letter name.

I've tried and tried, but I just can't seem to get it working! I need the Mos Eisley sky for a world named TME. Can anyone send me this? Oh, and is there supposed to be a PC folder in my world1 folder?

The easy fix is just to import the sky, then rename all the msh files with a TME prefix.

Re: Map Crash due to (I think) sky
Just a quick question about sky, since this is the topic. When I use a sky, do I have to rename all the files the sky calls for with my map prefix?
For instance, I copy the tat sky file info into my sky file (which is what finger should have done)
Do I have to rename all the other neccesary files to ***_sky (for example) and not just keep them as tat_ sky?
Finger food, try to retrieve your old sky file, and copy all the info in the sky file of tat into your tem sky file...
And make sure you have al the files it calls for.

Example with a map called ABC:Grev wrote:Just a quick question about sky, since this is the topic. When I use a sky, do I have to rename all the files the sky calls for with my map prefix?

- Copy the tat.sky file and all associated .tga's, .msh's and .msh's to your main world file
- Delete your abc.sky
- Rename tat.sky to abc.sky
Good luck!

Re: Map Crash due to (I think) sky
Do you have to put something in your REQN? I can't seem to get it working. Also, I don't have .tga files, only OPTION files.
Here's the files I put in:
The TME.sky is after I renamed the tat2.sky.
Here's the files I put in:
- sky_tatooine_flat.tga.option
tat2_sky_dome
tat2_sky_dome.msh.option
tat2_skyrocks_01
tat2_skyrocks_01.msh.option
tat2_skyrocks_02
tat2_skyrocks_02.msh.option
tat2_skyrocks_03
tat2_skyrocks_03.msh.option
TME.sky
The TME.sky is after I renamed the tat2.sky.

The tat sky might have extra assets in the "world\PC" folder.
I'm not sure though

The tga files for tatooine sky are indeed in the world2/PC folder so you should just need to copy those over as well.

Re: Map Crash due to (I think) sky
I copied the sky_tatooine.tga.option and sky_tatooine2.tga.option, but it still crashes. Do I need to rename any of the files to TME or tme? Also, what do I need to munge? (drop down menu: EVERYTHING, NOTHING, COMMON, tur. Or Check boxes: Common, Shell, Load, Localize, Sound, Movies) If I just want to munge the sky?
