From another thread:
FragMe! wrote:IF you have the DVD version try this

This is a known problem with the DVD version and some DVD drives.
check this link
Securom FAQ
It lists the things to do if you get the errors.

Basically you run the analysis program they link to, send the resulting file to them they in turn send you a version of the swbattlefrontii.exe file to put in the directory and then your game will run fine in 1.1 version. I had to do the same thing for my DVD version/drive combination.

Did you try the other versions of the v1.1 patches anyway?

How did you get a replacement exe so fast? It'd only been 2.5 hrs from my post to yours.

What I'm saying is that I find it unlikely that SecuROM would have replied with the replacement exe so fast. I suppose it's possible, but highly unlikely. It's not an automated process, so you have to deal with humans doing the work and wait for them (and do it during business hours).

How to create an analysis file and what to do with it
Hidden/Spoiler:
Standard instructions to create a SecuROM™ analysis file

1.Make sure the original disc (play or launch disc) is in a local CD or DVD-ROM drive.
2.Please reboot your computer and do not start any additional applications.
3."Right-click" (click the right button of your mouse) on the desktop shortcut or the actual executable.
4.A dialog menu will appear. Choose "Launch Analysis" from the menu choices.
5.After selecting "Launch Analysis," a disclaimer window will appear.
6.To proceed, please click onto the "Yes" button.
7.XP USERS: Your 'AnalysisLog.sr0' file will be saved to the root of your C:/ drive. To get there, locate 'My Computer', open your C:/ drive and you will see 'AnalysisLog.sr0'.
VISTA USERS: Your 'AnalysisLog.sr0' file will be stored in the following path:
'C:\Users\?YOUR USER?\Desktop\AnalysisLog.sr0'. If by chance this folder is hidden, you may have to display hidden folders. To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Go to 'Start' and left-click on 'Control Panel'.
2. Left-click on 'Appearance and Personalization'. Then select 'Folder Options'.
3. Now select the 'View' tab, then select 'Show hidden files and folders'. You should now have access to the folder.
8.Please compress the file using a program such as WinZip or WinRAR (to avoid email corruption) and send us this file as an attachment together with a description of your problem (e.g. with screenshots, further details).
^ I had to do this after I got a new DVD drive since my game DVD wasn't recognized as being in the drive but only after updating with the correct 1.1 update from LucasArts and I always ran the game directly with the battlefrontII.exe.
SecuROM analyzed the sr0 file and sent me a modified battlefrontII.exe that did recognize the disc in the drive and I never had the issue again. If you uninstall then reinstall the game and the patch then you'll need to replace the battlefrontII.exe in the GameData folder with the modified one from SecuROM again.
SecuROM is closed on the weekends but you can go ahead and email them the sr0 file and they'll take care of it when they get back to work.
