Add stock maps to my map? [Solved]

Post by linksith »

I'm not sure if this is possible but can I, by some miracle, add multiple stock maps to my 1 map?

He means having mos eisley in one place and kashykk in another.
If you were to save all the objects as a .obg file (mulit-select), you can place them on your map. This does not work for terrain and you may easily run over the object limit.

There is an object limit! What is the object limit?

EDIT: I forgot to ask, how do I get obj files into ZE?

~1000 ish objects. Depends on how complex they are(large, detailed models will cause problems sooner then an army of boxes...).

I have no idea, but why would you want too?

This will either be an awesome map or an utter fail. Good luck.

Figured it out. I will post what I did just in case anyone else wants to know (if they don't know).

Hidden/Spoiler:
1. Load a stock map and select all of the objects by using multi-select. hint: when you use multi-select press and hold the shift button while clicking and holding the left mouse button.

2. Click the "save group" button on the left panel and save to any destination.

3. Copy all of the odf and msh files from the stock map folder and put them in your world folder. Also take all of the sides from the side folder located in the assets folder and put them in your folder as well. Or just copy the common folder located in the sides folder as this folder is more necessary than the others. (Can it go without it? I'm not sure but I don't want to find out.)

4. Load your map and go back to multi-select. Click the load group button and locate the group file you saved.

5. Click on the location you want that stock map world to be. hint: if you want to rotate the entire world then place your world, press and hold the "z" key, then click and hold the middle mouse button while moving the mouse.

NOTE: You will need to manually create the barriers, regions, plans, terrain height, etc. as this will only copy the objects. At least this is better than nothing right?
If anyone wants to know I plan on making this map seem as though you could fly around the galaxy (well almost).
