My guess would be because he has a pale head, a dark thing attached to his mouth and capes and pieces of cloth hanging from parts of his uniform in an eccentric manner (yes, I also recognized a certain similarity between them).Darth_Spiderpig wrote:Really? Why so?

Well, the heads are similar colour (English spelling), but the Stalker's mouth isn't a silver thingy....but I get credit for spelling my post about it right

Re: Dark Times II: Rising Son
Holy crap, Mav... how do you make such great skins?? Love the Sith Stalker!Maveritchell wrote:I already posted where the idea for the repulsor trooper came from, and the storm commando was a unit in the Conversion Pack (albeit with a different model), and I just looked it up on Wikipedia from there.CaptainOrdo wrote:sweet deal Mav, by any chance did the battle of Jabiim comics inspire the repulsor trooper (and the storm commando from Rouge squadron 3 Rebel strike?)
So - not counting Luke and Mara as "full" Jedi, these next two units are going to be the only "real" "new" Jedi units for DTII. I'm going to show two at once, since both of these borrow hero support units from their "predecessors" in the previous iteration of Dark Times. These are of course an homage to (and the only homage, unitwise) the Force Unleashed's expansion pack.
Hero: Galen MarekWeapons: Galen Marek's Lightsaber, Force Push, Force Pummel, Force Repulse, Force GripHidden/Spoiler:
Since the "redeemed" Galen Marek didn't have much of a showing aside from the very last part of The Force Unleashed, he makes an appearance here in his "full" light-side character design, wearing the "Jedi Ceremonial Robe" from that game. His hero support unit is (as last time) the Militia Elite (Rahm Kota's hero support as well).
Hero: Sith StalkerWeapons: Lord Starkiller's Lightsaber, Force Push, Force Lightning, Force Crush, Sith StrikeHidden/Spoiler:
This, on the other hand, represents the hypothetical dark-side Starkiller that showed up in The Force Unleashed's expansion. Yes, I know he isn't technically called the Sith Stalker, but that is his name here. His hero support unit is the Stormtrooper Commander (Darth Vader's hero support).
Neither of these are "canonically" present in this time period, but I like the character design of both and I figure if we can deal with having Darth Maul show up in the CW era, we can deal with these two "Infinities" characters showing up here.

Mav, I know you're not a big fan of suggestions since you have a whole bunch of other things to focus on, but if I may just make a quick one to improve the Sith Stalker...
Along Lord Starkiller's belt lies his collection of lightsaber hilts, as per this pic:
Perhaps you could hex-edit them on there, not only making it more accurate, but also to add...I don't know...something just seems missing from his belt is all. I guess to add color. Otherwise it jsut doesn't look right to me, but I guess I tend to nit-pick like Tean, too.

I second the possibility of adding those for flavor of the model.

I would have to agree. You can't be an assassin if you don't have any lightsaber hilts on your belt from previous Jedi you've killed.

Re: Dark Times II: Rising Son
Not going to happen; if I had thought it would work well I would have done it already. The problem is that if hilts were there, they would clip into the legs since they would have to be weighted to one bone only.Twilight_Warrior wrote:Mav, I know you're not a big fan of suggestions since you have a whole bunch of other things to focus on, but if I may just make a quick one to improve the Sith Stalker...

Disagree. You dont have to kill Jedi to be an "assassin" and not all assassins collect trophies.

The best way I can think of to duplicate this look effectively is through the use of tentacles.Twilight_Warrior wrote:Mav, I know you're not a big fan of suggestions since you have a whole bunch of other things to focus on, but if I may just make a quick one to improve the Sith Stalker...

I know about tentacles but all of this has been done in a short (and past) time window where I had an XSI demo working. I will give it a try I suppose, but I will have to find a different computer to install the demo on.

Excellent. I knew those two characters would be here.
Nice attention to detail on the Stalker's lightsaber too.

This might just be me, but I don't see why it matters so much. It's just one little detail.Maveritchell wrote:You need to stop taking away my excuses.AceMastermind wrote:The best way I can think of to duplicate this look effectively is through the use of tentacles.![]()
