Hey, i'm having a problem with trying to munge my shell. I tried following the tutorial by theWulfMan on how to munge a shell.lvl but the shell.lvl that appears in the folder Data_ABC\_LVL_PC folder is only about 8 bytes in size. I'm trying to change the background texture of the instant action menu screen. Whether I make the contents of my shell folder large or small I always get an 8 byte size shell.lvl file. Plus, I get this error message..
ERROR[levelpack shell.req]:Could not open ..\common\munged\pc\core.files for input. DOS reports:
No such file or directory
ERROR[levelpack shell.req]:Could not open ..\common\munged\pc\core.files for input. DOS reports:
No such file or directory

..does anyone know how to solve this? any help would be appreciated.

Re: Problem with Munging Shell
I tried both. the visualmunge within the data_ABC\_Build folder and the munge within the shell folder in the data_ABC\_build folder.

Re: Problem with Munging Shell
You may want to confirm whether you can munge at all - have you tried munging the default map? If you can verify that works, then there's a little ground to start guessing from.

Re: Problem with Munging Shell
when you say, 'default map', do you mean the ABC.lvl map that is created when building a world? if so, that works fine. i've been able to munge sides (all, imp, cis, rep) without any problems.
EDIT
actually, i just found out how to solve the problem. but the solution i used doesn't make sense to me. i was messing around with the visualmunge and tried munging with different settings. I selected 'nothing' for my sides and then unchecked everything except for 'sound only'. then the program munged all of the sides i had in my folder and when i checked the _LVL_PC folder, the shell.lvl file was created and had the proper size. i placed it into the game and it appeared to work.
i was under the impression that the 'sound only' option meant it would munge the sound folder only. i guess it doesn't matter now though. anyways thanks for the responses.
