Importing .obj and .3ds

Post by Fiodis »

A quick question: how do you import .obj and .3ds files into Modtool 6? I tried to import a .obj, but nothing appeared; attempting to import the same file in .3ds format resulted in Modtool crashing, with a sign: "Failed to save scene before system failure".

I have the same problem with 3ds. With obj just go file>import>obj and if there is a problem then it is probably related to a texture. If so, just uncheck material and UV wrapping. That usually does it for me.

Got it, thanks. What's the problem with 3ds, do you think?

I don't know really. Usually when the 3ds object is untextured, everything is fine. It is the textured 3ds that create problems for me because when I import it, it says "error" or something like that.
