Disappearing Objects

Post by Jendo7 »

In conquest mode some small objects like the health and ammo droids disappear from a certain distance. Other small props like the Millennium Falcon landing gear and R2-D2 also disappear.
All these objects have been placed in the base layer in zeroeditor and not conquest. Would this be the main reason or would it be due to some objects having no lowrez geometry?

Thanks for any answers.

I think the main reason is that they have no lowrez geometry. To fix this, you can assign the "highres" objects to the "lowres" spot in the .odf as well, your problem should then be fixed.

Thanks. I'll see if that works.

It does seem strange that the ammo droid would do that, as it's from the common folders in the shipped game.

That can be because they are so small, that the makers didn't feel it was necessary to make a low-res one.

I tried it and added GeometryLowRez to the ODF, and assigned the GeometryName highrez object to it, cleaned then munged, but it still didn't work. Maybe it's because I have alot of objects in my map, and I also have a long view distance.

Anyway, in principle it should of worked.

Thanks for your help.
