Well, the title speaks for itself. The main reason I'm asking this is because my map currently has absolutely no sound at all. If I was adding just a couple sounds, I could stand adding them, but I don't think I could stand adding that many sounds. I'm sure it's probably just something stupid, as I've munged maps with sound before. I am using custom sides, however, so would I have to go through that entire process for every sound, or could I somehow just copy the imp and cis sounds to my sides, as I'm not actually using ANY custom sound at all.
Edit: Fixed. No idea why, but now there's sound.
Is there a simpler/faster way to add shipped sounds?[Solved]

The simple way is to just choose one main sound file which already includes most or all sounds you want for your map. For example, if you want a map with AT-ATs, choose hot.lvl. After that, add the missing sounds with the help of Rend's tutorial.

Well, I do have some problems right of the bat: For some of the steps, it requires stuff from the assests/sound folder. For one reason or another, I do not have one. Also, just curious, but would I add things for units in the sfx? At first I assumed yes, but then he speficially said vehicles, so are unit sounds required for the sfx file? If no, then I did something wrong, probably because I can't really get the sound assests.Marvel4 wrote:The simple way is to just choose one main sound file which already includes most or all sounds you want for your map. Well, then you should download the modtools again. Or search again, it should be right in BF2_ModTools.Zango wrote:For some of the steps, it requires stuff from the assests/sound folder. For one reason or another, I do not have one.
You just have to add the missing sounds. It works for both vehicles and units. Also, just curious, but would I add things for units in the sfx? Well, I re-installed them, and there's still no assets/sound. At this point I think he/you mean(s) a directory other then what I'm thinking of; I'm refrencing C:\BF2_ModTools\assets, is it in another directory?Marvel4 wrote:Well, then you should download the modtools again. Ah, I see. Well, I'll give it a shot then.Marvel4 wrote:data_xxx/Sound/
EDIT: Well, I've still got no clue as what else to do really. :/ On the other side though, I finally managed to make my Awesome Sith unit stable! I've already done a custom loading screen (Although it sucks
EDIT: Kind of un-related and off-topic, but making another thread seems a bit unnesicary, so I'll just ask here: How would I fix my one unit from deflecting with the right mouse button? For one reason or another, when I rightclick he goes to the deflect stance, and because of that he can't use any secondary weapons. I have a similiar issue with one of my heroes, but instead he can't manually reload because, for some reason, "R" uses his secondary weapon. Any advice would be very much appriciated.
