How to: Make a Bladed Weapon.

Post by Caleb1117 »

You may or mayn't know that I've been making a Wookiee Warblade, and its done.
But something is wrong, It is invisible during normal combos, but will show up in a saber throw.

A look at lightsaber ODFs told me that swords needed fire points, I just assumed the class tag Melee made the whole geometry damaging.

The .xsi model has no fire points, and it is now obvious to me that it needs them, But I have no idea there to put them.

At the center of each blade? on the tip?

Oh also you should know some about the weapon if you've never played KotOR.

It is a Dual bladed weapon, with long, wide blades on both sides of the hilt.

Double-sided weapons are a bit strange, but the general requirement is that you place an hp_grip where the character's hp_weapon will bolt onto the weapon.

Yeah, I think I made a staff weapon a while ago, and it had an hp_active, hp_fire1, and hp_fire2. I can send you the mesh if you want, but I don't think you can look at it in XSI; you'd probably have to just look at it in a hex editor.

does this apply to blunt melee weapons too? and how are you meant to do it with a single bladed weapon?
