Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Nice Dantooine! I've played both of the aforementioned Dantooine maps, and this seems to combine them both and add something new as well. The one in RotE was good, except for the annoyingly tall grass (which I see you don't have). And Caleb's one is perfect for the KotOR era, but I don't think it had CW era. This Dantooine still has the plain-type feel of the RotE map, and makes good use of the props in Caleb's map. IMO, it's the best map of the 4 already shown for this project. Although a new space Coruscant does sound interesting...

Looks nice. It seems like the sunset-plains kind of setting is really popular right now. I'm making one, you're making one, YaNkFaN's making one...
It's nice that the foliage on the ground is the same color as the terrain texture. That'll definitely help reduce the annoying effect of seeing foliage sprout up out of the ground as the player moves forward.

Hey Xavious, may a make a couple suggestions for new legions? Right now I really like the new look of the 501st and I would like to see them in this mappack with these extra units. And the 327th would also be a good legion to add...

In my opinion there are too many maps/mods with the 327th, the 501st might be alright.

Too many with the 327th? IMO, I think the 501st is a little overdone (they are in every stock map, every campaign mission, and every conquest match)Nihillo wrote:Nova Hawk wrote:Hey Xavious, may a make a couple suggestions for new legions? I say any other legion would work nicely, like the 327th, although it's your project, and after all, clones are clones.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
The 501st is the stock legion (I'm sure you are aware of that) and not all mappers have the know-how to add custom sides.Devastator77 wrote:Too many with the 327th? IMO, I think the 501st is a little overdone (they are in every stock map, every campaign mission, and every conquest match)

As the option of adding new legions to maps/mods became available to modders, the 501st got out of use and was replaced by other popular legions such as the 327th, however, with this innovation comes repetition - if everyone does the 327th, it will become "that legion that is in every map and everyone is tired of looking at" (the 501st), by the same token, the the expanded 501st became a rarity, a fresh, innovative legion to play as - doing the same thing over and over is a bad idea, there has to be a balance.
Personally, I think Xavious mod is fine the way it is now, there is no need to add any more legions...

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Also judging by the picture of Captain Rex, perhaps the 501st is in this mappack, and rep didn't bother showing them. Personally I like it when people expand the 501st into what they were in ep3 a blue-coated, rifle toting, torrent of firepower. So come on people. We have 4 (possibly 5) legions not to mention confirmation of 5 maps, with a further 2 on the way. Get with the picture! Xav is working hard on this and he deserves to get to pick what happens.

I've only posted pictures of four of the maps. So technically, only four maps have been confirmed with visuals.CCO! wrote:confirmation of 5 maps, with a further 2 on the way.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
The New Geonosis, I take it? It looks good so far, the terrain and sky, the forward command center, and the AT-TEs. Can't really judge it on 1 screenie, but it looks promising...

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
@Xavious:
Some questions!
1) You mentioned every map will have a campaign mission. Will the campaign follow a particular storyline?
2) Still intending to put this era on stock maps as well?
Oh and geo looks nice.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Yes, I think that's still his plan. Then why would it be called "Ultimate Battlefront" and have all those pics of Coruscant and Mustafar and stuff?Skyhammer_216 wrote:2) Still intending to put this era on stock maps as well?)

No, they're all independent of each other.Skyhammer_216 wrote:@Xavious:

That was the original intention, so yes.Skyhammer_216 wrote:2) Still intending to put this era on stock maps as well?
