New maps and mods are coming out quickly. If you release something (even a beta) please post it here. Be sure to give details in the topic such as Map/Mod name and version
Mission: The CIS have made an unexpected turn towards Alderaan, and are currently commencing an air strike on the capital city of Alderaa. With most other legions locked down in battle, it is up to the 501st to get the civilians to safety. Ok, so the good news: the last shipload of civilians have left the city. The bad news: the CIS have infiltrated the city, and it'll be a while before the dropship can come back. As communications have been cut off, you will be meeting the dropship at an agreed-upon point just outside the city. Be careful! You have limited reinforcments. Capture all CIS command posts as you make your way out of the city to win the game.

how do you know that? I mean, I haven't posted any pictures how it looks from the outside, and I have never seen any pictures of the interiors of the buildings of Alderaan...I don't doubt that I had to make up most of the map, but then again, there isn't much reference material to work off of...in fact, I based the whole thing off this one pic:
Penguin, I think I might have actually seen that pic somewhere, but after Aldera was shown IN the movie, I figured that that pic was the more authentic of the two. Oh yeah, and here are the pics. However, it does seem a bit empty...I guess you guys are right...I released it too early. But could you maybe cut me a little slack? I mean, it is a first map....
Please somebody download this, its a fun map!...I think...
I played through a round of it. It was alright. Still some major problems needing fixing.
-Localization - There is no localization! Nothing has names! Its all [Null].
-Change the ground texture to match the city.
-Better texture for the building interiors.
-Couple floating buildings.
-The AI keep falling off the bridges - use barriers.
-The platform the Republic starts on seems a little too small.
well, add some sky, a few small buildings, give AI and yourself names, add heroes, possibly make an assault mode, do all the stuff maul listed, and u have a much better map than u started out with.
You gain a lot of credit simply be using custom models in your map. But this doesn't mean that you can slack off.
I would say give it some time. If your still new to moding, dont rush through it. Let it sit for a month - a month of working on getting the ideas and your own wrap around the modding tools. Then come back and play it (I dont necesarily mean dont play it for a month..point is as you get better, you'll see your work through different eyes) and see what you think of it.
I dont mean this sarcastically - I havent played this map and am not about to judge it. But I do have a feeling that you yourself might feel differently about the completeness of this map once you've grasped the tools a little more.
But, anyhow, looks good, as do the models. Keep working on it, be sure to give it some variation. Water is always great for eye candy as well.
I'll download it and tell you what I think. But I definatly want to see you keep with it and take your time, as that in my opinion is the best way to get any decent at modding.
I'm not insulted, in fact, I completely agree with you, I was stupid to release it early...but I'm working on a new one (index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=7938) and I'm going to take my time on this one, and I'm going to ask for approval before release
eh, valiant has a point. I pointed out before that if perhaps u add a few smaller buildings, maybe some water as well, it will be better. we're not insulting you, but helping you to get better, so u will be able to make better maps in el futuro. (i myself, don't make maps, instead i play them.so it's most likely i will try this one out)
