@ Alex533: Maybe have an SSD in the background, jsut in front of Death Star II? Or have it as a large physical object, like the droid control ships

Like I said, it'll be based off of the Rogue Leader level. Anyone who's ever played it will know what I'm talking about. The layout has the Rebels right in the center, flanked by two or three Star Destroyers. Then, in front of the Rebels in the backround you can see the Death Star hovering there above the planet which is situated below you, and behind you, beyond the Star Destroyers, is the Imperial Fleet in the backround. So really, the map will have about two or three Mon Cals, with supporting frigates, two or three Star Destroyers directly behind flanking the Rebels, and then the Imperial Fleet/Death Star/Endor all in the backround as sky dome objects.

Hehe that level was great, when the interceptors came i flew right into them and took tons out.

Anyone consider using a land terrain and giving it like a deathstar texture. You could then add small buildings to the surface, trench, etc.
you could give it a night time skybox.

How exactly does the Rebel base on Yavin factor into the map? Are you using a portal?

Oh, I can't wait to play this one... hmm... I wonder, could I beta test, by any chance? Just asking; either way, I'll play this map as soon as I can, beta or not. :)

still testing and tweaking.gameplay wise it is just dogfighting but that is still great fun.This is the first map that I have done that has been anywhere near being released and I do take my time to get my ideas working and just right.

Completely understandable. Make sure it's a Diet Dr. Pepper good map, even if it takes longer.

I am trying to get the rebel base to have a daytime instead of night sky.Trying a couple of ideas.This is what yavin 4 looks like from space at the moment

How the... whoa. Jeez. That looks really cool. How, exactly, does the Yavin IV - Space thing work, exactly? Is there some kind of portal or something you go through and end up in space, or do you actually fly out and to the Death Star yourself? If that's the case, how long does it take to get from Yavin to the Death Star? Quick, long, what? Just curious, because I never thought this sort of approach would be taken in a space map.

I want the rebels to take off in daylight from Yavin 4 then onto the Death Star.This happens very quick.The base I am building floats in space.I am trying to hide it behind a planet model.Like I have said eariler,I try many odd ideas in my maps!
