Cant localize weapons

Cant localize weapons
I cant get my weapons for a mod to localize. I have already looked at the tutorial and did what it said but all i get is an xD for my weapon. Does the side have to be in a map in order for localize to work?

What are you localizing the weapons in a map or accross the whole game?

how is this core tool any different from me going to my battlefront folder and opening the core with notepad? When i edited it like that the game crashed instantly.

It is different because it makes a new core. If you edit the core with note pad offcourse it will crash. You have to use a hex editor.
You do the localization like in rends tutorial as if you are doing it for a map then you munge that map you then open the folder for your map (not the one in addon the unmunged folder) open the _BUILD _PC folder then the Common folder the the munged folder you should see files called stuff like german.loc and french.loc copy all the files that have a .loc at the end. Open the core lvl tool and open the munged folder paste the .loc files in there say yes to overwrite. Open the core.lvl tool and double click on munge when it is finished the new core lvl will be in the core folder copy and paste it into C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC say yes to overwrite play the game and hopefully the weapons should be localised.

Wow!!! Sweet! Thank you EA711! It worked.
Is it possible to change the commands like "enemy sighted" and the others? I have seen it done before with fang. Would i just use hex edit and change that part?

just something silly. Also, how do i localize vehicles? thats not shown in the tutorial.

same as the soldiers for example: entity, rep, inf_clone trooper would be the clone trooper and vehicles ie a tank: entity, rep, hover_tank.

no not the sounds, but when you hit ie f8 when you're online it will show in text "enemy sighted."

Oh those I don't know, but I remeber there is thread on here how to do it. It involves hexediting and should be quite easy.
