You can download the XSI 6 Modtools, which is what most non-pro SWBF2 modders use. Using Reps amazing awesome exporter you can guess what, export stuff into SWBF2 you can then use the Noesis modeling tuts that come with it.

There you go! If you've been using the full version of xsi you may want to change the view mode to xsi default.

Yep, there's also a link in the first sticky at the top of this forum, but for some reason people tend to ignore stickies. :roll:

I recommend downloading rep's mesh importer and starting off by editing shipped models (start out with guns or props, units and vehicles take more work). Just get familiar with XSI and basic modeling.
Hidden/Spoiler:
V = translate/move
C = Rotate
X = Scale
S = Move camera
Spacebar = Select tool

Keyboard shortcuts FTW!

Sadly, we have no tutorials in "squeak," so you may be out of luck if hamsterspeak is all you can do. Fortunately for you, that tutorial you speak of is also just the one you need for the XSI modtool, since they're set up more or less the same. Just sit down, take some time, get used to the interface, and see what things do. If you're willing to take the time and experiment you should be able to figure things out whether you understand the tutorial or not.

ok thanks

Edit
i've played around with some of the shapes and i've figured out how to use the shape change options but now i have another problem (figures). how do i make complex shapes? how do i combine shapes? how would i make a buildings interior? how do i color it? how do i put it in-game?

i know its alot but the basic modeling in XSI tutorial isn't helping me, its set to a completely different version of XSI all the controls and user interfaces are different so i cannot understand how to work with it.

You should watch and follow the Noesis Dynamite tutorial, it'll teach you how to use the tools which you will use frequently when creating content.

It's not different, you just need to change your "Mode" in the top menu to:
XSI Default(Pro Mode)
