All you have to do is Right-Click, and click on rename, and add .exe to the end.

Re: Battlefront extreme 2.2
the setup is an exe file already....
and changing the .zip extension of an archive doesnt do anything except making it useless

Me and my mate are having the same problem, all EXE files on swbffilefront are 'unknown file types', I wanted the dark times and battlefront extreme but they both come up as a plain white sheet icons after long download, I have Windows 7 and I tryed editing the exes. to .rar

Put .exe on the end of the file like SW_elite suggested. Worked for me, as I also have Windows 7.Lozza wrote:Me and my mate are having the same problem, all EXE files on swbffilefront are 'unknown file types', I wanted the dark times and battlefront extreme but they both come up as a plain white sheet icons after long download, I have Windows 7 and I tryed editing the exes. to .rar

I have Win7 and my .exe's show up fine, just saying. I wouldn't blame the OS.

Re: Battlefront extreme 2.2
This issue has nothing to do with the OS you use(I use XP) or your computer, not long ago Filefront apparently made some adjustments to their servers that strips the ".exe" extension from executables/self-extracting archives for additional protection or security. Windows Live SkyDrive did this same thing recently as well. You only need to add the extension back for your PC to recognize them.
I explained this HERE also.

Security/Protection, why did they do that, the whole filefront site or just bffilefront???AceMastermind wrote:...not long ago Filefront apparently made some adjustments to their servers that strips the ".exe" extension from executables/self-extracting archives for additional protection or security...

Yeah, I have Vista, and this allways works for me. It's either .exe, .rar or .zip, so I make three copies just to be sure

Re: Battlefront extreme 2.2
Sorry if i post in the wrong section. Can somebody help me with BFX?
I tried the battlefront extreme 2.2 mod and i think it's beatifull and very well done, but the negative is that it only work on the original game maps and not on the conversion pack maps, so anybody can tell me how to put thoose Factions (Clone wars BFX and Civil War BFX that contains:classes, damage, settings...) on the conversion pack maps like alderaan.
Please help me, i tried, but i have never done any kind of modding and i don't understand anything, please help me.

Re: Battlefront extreme 2.2
Help you with what and how exactly? I hope you don't meaning walking you through everything step-by-step or doing the entire modification for you. Doing what you are asking requires several disiplinary understandings and skills that need experience over time to grow and develop. Please realize that Gametoast is primarily a SWBF2 modding site. It has accumulated a vast wealth of modding knowledge over its seven years of existence, which can easily be found in the The FAQ / Everything You Need Thread Version 2.0 and using the forum's Search function.

I'm sorry, i thought that i only had to copy one file and did some little change, but now i have understood that it's not so easy, Thank you, but i'm not so good at english, and i'm a noob in modding, so maybe in the future i will try to learn something.

AQT, I think you have misunderstood him. I believe what he is asking is:
How do I get the eras from BFX Installed on other maps, such as the Alderaan, and other maps that are only found on the Convo Pack. The Intention being that he could play those sides on those Maps.
I think I Can answer this for you.
Unforuanatly, the BFX Map, is only intended to work for those Maps, and not the Convo maps. You will understand why when you are a bit more experienced however.
I will try to explain. Simply put: Basicly when you create a Map, you add to it the sides that are used in it. When you create a Mod, it overrides the the exhisting Maps settings and adds the New sides to it.
Because the BFX Mod was created based on the stock maps, it only overrides the stock maps, and not maps from other mods such as the Conva Pack.
Obviously its a bit more complicated then that, but you'll get the Hang of it eventualy.
If you had the asset files, and the files from the Conva pack, you could technicaly create replica eras for those maps, but only by createing a New Mod, not with just the exhisting mods you downloaded.
Is that clear?

How exactly did I miss understand him?Slime615 wrote:AQT, I think you have misunderstood him.
He's obviously new to modding and adding the BFX era to the Conversion Pack maps would be a complicated task for such a new person. So why bother explaining the basics of making an addon existing era mod onto a seperate mod when he doesn't even know the basics of modding?
My point to him exactly. Yet you insist on introducing him to concepts that are over his head and in a convoluted manner. You will understand why when you are a bit more experienced however.
An addme.script includes additional missions for the stock maps. Nothing is overriden here for your information.Because the BFX Mod was created based on the stock maps, it only overrides the stock maps
