Re: Alzoc 3 - Blizzard
All right guys. Attending to some requests, the map has now support to Maveritchell's Dark Times 2 mod as well as ARC_Commander's Battlefront Extreme mod. Thanks to yuke5 for the implementation.
Both mods are playable on the conquest and CTF modes. DT2 and BFX GCW are also playable on hunt mode, as well as the stock GCW era.
Here are a couple of pics. I tried to get a good one of the units but it was hard to do so with all the action going on.
The map is basically done. I can't think of anything more to do in it. All sound problems have been dealt with and the visual part has been done for some time, so you can expect this to be released soon.

If everything go as planned yes. If don't, it will probably be after tomorrow...

In the second pic there, for a moment I thought that snowflake was skinned onto the back of the droid's head.
Can't wait for the beta.

Well for one thing Rosy, sometimes it's good to have the stock sides, instead of poorly balanced custom sides. It takes a lot of work to make sure new custom sides are balanced. If he wants to focus on just making a wonderful map, more power to him.

Re: Alzoc 3 - Blizzard
I would say WULF perfectly summed up what I'd say. Also, I'm really not good at editing sides. I have almost no experience with it. On the other hand, I've already spent lots of hours working on the 'Map Editing' part of modding. I'd say it's my specialty. I know very well what I have to do in order to get what I want. And I really like to edit the environment. I think it's quite fun.
And by the way, you can always add era mods to give the map some more variety to the units.

Re: Alzoc 3 - Blizzard
Yeah, why would you make a side when there are already great pre-balanced sides out there, I know I personally like making sides but some people don't, and having addable eras like BFX and Dark Times allows people who don't make sides to have custom sides.

Some bad news guys, Mediafire isn't colaborating so I'm not going to be able to upload the beta today. I'll try again tomorrow.

Re: Alzoc 3 - Blizzard
I'm getting network timeouts. Right now I'm trying to upload it in a .rar file instead of .zip.
EDIT: Today it is not gonna work. Gonna try again tomorrow. Sorry

If you're making a standalone map custom sides aren't worth the work. IMO. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Re: Alzoc 3 - Blizzard
thats why you use dropbbox. Links cant (afaik) break. Unless your ISP isnt working you will always be able to upload files.GAB wrote: ... Mediafire isn't colaborating so I'm not going to be able to upload the beta today...

Re: Alzoc 3 - Blizzard
You may also want to use 7zip to compress your files in 7z format. It is INCREDIBLY compact.

:plokoon: I concu... agree. *Feels the wrath of THEWULFMAN*
Jeah, I use 7zip to compress now as well, very effective, it's gotten me down to like 15% of original file size.
