The sides are looking fantastic, impspy. My only gripe is with the militia units: while I know you are doing the random msh concept with them, there's something about it that doesn't look standardized or uniformed if you know what I mean.

Re: W.I.P.: Pax Empiricae
I think; do you not like the fact that they look un-uniform, more like a mish-mosh of differant units, instead of a more standerdized force? (thanks for the feedback btwAQT wrote:The sides are looking fantastic, impspy. Re: W.I.P.: Pax Empiricae
Well from what I've seen in the various versions of TFU, Kota's Militia was kind of like the Rebel Alliance, how they were organized and wore uniform combat clothing. That's my point.

The Noghri model is from Jedi Knight 3, kindly converted by DEVISSskelltor wrote:where is that noghri model from or did you guys make it?
They act like the Bulldog RLR, except they home better and have only 2 rounds per clip.skelltor wrote:what do the rail dets do?

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed at the decisions you've made for your mod. So far, I'm not seeing a whole lot of originality - what I see is a huge grouping of a bunch of other people's and other games' past work. Rather than just cherrypicking assets you see that look nice, work a little harder to make something new.

Re: W.I.P.: Pax Empiricae
Yes, we have permission to use the skin.
I made more, but showing those would be spoilers.
I also did JK alien kitbashes, but i won't post those either.
I won't post the stuff impspy did either.
Mav, you of all people should know that you can't do everything. I am not a very good skinner, and impspy will tell you the same thing is true of him. Yes, we used stuff from JK, yes, lot's of other people's stuff is in this mod, but there are people (i won't name names,) who have given us stuff for this mod, if people release their stuff, it's gonna be used. we can't post a pic of every single thing, and no one cares that we reskinned 5 wookiees.
We also have another Imperial side on the way, ( I won't say what) with models made by ME.
You want to see new?Maveritchell wrote: So far, I'm not seeing a whole lot of originality - what I see is a huge grouping of a bunch of other people's and other games' past work. Rather than just cherrypicking assets you see that look nice, work a little harder to make something new.

Re: W.I.P.: Pax Empiricae
I'm not sure why Mav "of all people" should know you can't do everything. And to be fair most of those models are hardly "yours", they're Pandemic's with alterations.IndianaJoe wrote:Yes, we have permission to use the skin.

But aside from that it looks pretty good, agree with AQT that having random uniforms for the militia isn't a great idea though. Maybe you could make them different species/skin colors?

Re: W.I.P.: Pax Empiricae
I'm not giving you a hard time because I think that - you can do everything, and you posted proof in the pictures above. It just takes time. I'm giving you a hard time because the pair of you have shown yourselves as capable, but a lot of the time you're taking the quick way out and using a JK3 model here, a pre-released map there.IndianaJoe wrote:Mav, you of all people should know that you can't do everything. Edit: I'm also trying to look out for you in terms of releasing it - GT's rules aren't as strict as the Filefront network's rules - I can't accept a file there if I know it has models ported from another game (entirely user-created models obviously don't fall into this category).

Re: W.I.P.: Pax Empiricae
Well Mav has been doing this for a while hasn't he? Even i know that there are limits to everyone's talents.
True, they are composed of pandemic models,( i did a lot of it myself actually) but nobody makes EVERY model from scratch right?
oh, i am serious, if i tried to skin a gran, you would die laughing
EDIT: read Mav's edit, why don't we just say these things? XD if it's illegal, I better start making new heads fom scratch.

Just an update for you guys, but I think I may have dealt Mimban: Mining Village a mortal wound by trying to manually add CTF modes. It may not ever get released, sorry.
