Unable to place a stardestroyer on non-Space map [Solved]

Post by Zeddix »

Hey Guys,
i want to place a stardestroyer on my Map, landed on ground.
I tried it in ZE with the Stardesroyer Models (I copyed mshs and odfs in my modfolder.).
In ZE the textuers are missing, dunno why.
In game the stardestroyer is missing, No collision or something like that....
Here is a screen out of my testmap:

Hope you can help me :D

Welcome to GameToast.

That is indeed strange, you got those MSHs from the Space Template folder? I myself was able to put capital ships in a ground map just fine, so there shouldn't be any hard-coded issue. Let's see....

You're absolutely sure you have the right files in the corresponding folders? The SD's MSH and TGA files in your own world's MSH folder, not in some other world's? The ODF in your own world's ODF, and so on?

Did you get any Mungelog?

That is indeed strange,
it's not strange at all he forgot to copy over .tgas
(I copyed mshs and odfs in my modfolder.).
you need to copy over .tgas open the .msh up with notepad (this may take a few seconds to a minute) and search (ctrl+f) for .tga then copy those files from the same folder where you got the .mshes from to your respective data_abc/worlds/abc/msh folder

and welcome to GT

Lol, I missed that bit.

Well, missing TGA's should make it disappear.

disappear? how so missing .tgas don't affect the .msh at all they just make it look like that in ZE and in game black with no texture

Your turn to re-read his post better!

He is asking why that is happening.

And for the record, when I have missing textures, in-game they show up gray instead of black.

Hey thank you for your replays.

I copyed the mshs(not only stardestroyers mshs to be sure) to "Data_Mymap\Common\mshs\" and the odfs Data_Mymap\Common\odfs\ just like normal.
Its not the first time im modding swbfII, i just can't login anymore with my (very) old User, but name is still the same :).
Doesn't matter.
I'm not sure if its is nessesary to copy the odfs/mshs to the "Sides" folder...

Edit: I got Mungelog, but just sounderrors :).

You should be putting your files in ...\BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Worlds\ABC.

I tried, but in the ZE it still looks the same, without textuers...

Edit: Now i testet ingame, i can see stardestroyer, but still the textures missing!

Edit2: Now all works fine, i don't know that the textuers have other names then the mshs, good to know :). Thank you all
