Problems running republic commando demo [Solved]

I'm trying to run the Star Wars: Republic Commando demo on a computer that can run crysis at medium settings, and once the demo level loads up, my whole computer locks up and I have to restart, not even ctrl-alt-del works. Any ideas at why this is? It's a tad irritating.

Also, what is your operating system? If its Vista than that could be your problem.

It never even gets past the load screen, and I'm on XP.

EDIT: Wikipedia had the answer. Nvidia geforce 8 series graphics cards have issues with the bump mapping, so setting the bumpmap settings on low fixed it.

It could be memory loss then. Try not running Xfire or any other memory suckers then try running it.
