I don't get why that'd be a nightmare... you realize you're on a SWBF-dedicated modding forum, right?

Meh, idk why, I've just never been that excited for a SWBFIII, I'm happy with 2, we have lots of great modders, and without Pandemic, it means we may potentially be facing a battlefront without Zero, which could turn out win or fail, and on top of that, if the new game engine isn't modable and the game=fail, then we have an issue.Teancum wrote:I don't get why that'd be a nightmare... you realize you're on a SWBF-dedicated modding forum, right?
I guess I'm just content with what we have right now.

Re: New Star Wars Game TBA- December 12th
the developer would be insane to not release a modding tools software for Free Radical's SWBF3 (had that come to pass).
And the website domains up to http://www.starwarsbattlefront6.com were purchased by LA.
When half the "rumors" on the list were confirmed before February, I wouldn't call it spot on.

True, therein lies a problem.DarthRogueKnight wrote:Meh, idk why, I've just never been that excited for a SWBFIII, I'm happy with 2, we have lots of great modders, and without Pandemic, it means we may potentially be facing a battlefront without Zero, which could turn out win or fail, and on top of that, if the new game engine isn't modable and the game=fail, then we have an issue.Teancum wrote:I don't get why that'd be a nightmare... you realize you're on a SWBF-dedicated modding forum, right?

One of the many reasons I keep all my released assets on my COM is to be converted to SWBFIII someday.
I mean, hopefully you can get it converted to nearly any engine....right? hmm....
If the game = fail, there isn't an issue then. We will just stick here till SWBFIV

Re: New Star Wars Game TBA- December 12th
All those Battlefront domains they bought... IDK why they don't just link it to either the LucasArts site or the official battlefront site...
Probably set the conspiricists' tongues wagging.
For all we know, they may have done a BFIII which has the Elite Squadron story as only one of its storylines... or maybe that's wishful thinking because I think it'd be cool to have more than one storyline in a Battlefront game now.
Mod Tools? We'll see, but LA didn't disappoint with BF1 or BF2.

I hope DRK doesn't mind if I answer this one for him: nope, I don't care.Nova Hawk wrote:Ya but Rogue, wouldn't you like it if the AI were smarter and the graphics were better??
I'm not eagerly looking forward to SWBFIII, that's mainly because I think my video-card would not be able to handle it (and I have no intention to buy a new one anytime soon). If it is a new Battlefront game, great, that's good for almost everyone, but I won't be joining the party, it's not a game of my immediate interest.

If it's SWBF3 and they release it on the PC they'll release tools. Lucasarts is smart. They know which games will make more money on the PC if they have the devs provide tools. Look at the SWBF series, the Jedi Knight series, and Empire At War, heck even Republic Commando has its own tools in a round-about way, being an Unreal engine game.

I am ashamed to even have to comment on this, but the overactive anticipation is a little pathetic whenever a new popular version of a franchise may or may not be in development:lesovikk1 wrote:http://battlefront3.net/2009/12/battlef ... t-3-actor/

You find it more logical that this is the writing of a professional than the likelihood that this is - once again - someone making something up about a game to generate blog hits?“However Battlefront 3 is also in development. It was by far the Most Fun and Coolest Casting I ever worked on.”

Not really, because there's no way to legitimize a person like this as a "source."
Although it may legitimize "his" e-mail, since the spelling and formatting in his bio is just as poor as that in the quote:
He continued his Education, studying Screeenwriting at NYU Film School at night while working in Film Production during the day.

Re: New Star Wars Game TBA- December 12th
And really? Empire at War was supposed to be Battlefront 3? That makes about as much sense as calling "Men of War" "Call of Duty 7." They're not even remotely close to each other with the exception of the fact they're both in the SW universe. Not to mention the fact it's ridiculous to release a sequel 3 months after the previous game. Please, think critically about these sorts of things before you decide it's perfectly true.

If the article is to be believed (and mind you I do not think it is), then it's for a voice acting gig. As far as that is concerned, the games may as well be identical.GangsterJawa wrote:And really? I think I vaguely see you point, but it still doesn't make very much sense to me.Maveritchell wrote:If the article is to be believed (and mind you I do not think it is), then it's for a voice acting gig. In that case I will spell it out, because it's veering off-topic.GangsterJawa wrote:I think I vaguely see you point, but it still doesn't make very much sense to me.
A voice acting job for either of those games is going to involve recording short snippets of character dialogue that will be played intermittently and repetitively through the course of a game. The style of voice acting will be the same, because the setting is the same. (I.e. if someone was hired to play random Imperial officer X for a team shooter, he could do the same in an RTS, because there's no real extended dialogue to deal with.) You are extrapolating the specificity of singular jobs by the specificity of gameplay, and there's no correlation - if the setting were different, you'd see more overlap, but as you acknowledge, they share the same setting.

Re: New Star Wars Game TBA- December 12th
With my post why would they post that on bf3.com who iv got quite a lot of my infomation from before. I think that is 100% legit. The empire at war thing could be that he has got confused because his voice is in empire at war.
But it doesnt matter tomorow is nearly here...

BF3.com also posts rumors... constantly. All I have to say is that at this point let's table the discussion and talk about our excitement to quite literally find out tomorrow.
