Including me. I bought the PC version (I bought the Xbox version when it came out) so I could play mod maps and make my own maps. However, I like the PC version better (and not because of the mods, but they help). I have several maps planned, but ZeroEditor is really difficult to use (for me, anyway), and I have only been able to rasie the terrain. I'm still having trouble saving too. Oh well. I'm going to post our wish for decent tools from the start at LA.

Look guys, just send in your wish to Pandemic in an email. I did it and got a reply from the president (Josh Resnick) telling me that my ideas (which was my original post, only edited and with more ideas) had been sent to the team at LucasArts. But, it's getting kind of late, because they are starting to polish it up, because they are done with the main features. But of course, they could always work on the editing tools after they are done with the game. I did find the tools quite hard to function with...I liked Battlezone II's editor a WHOLE lot better.--In case you don't know, Battlezone II was a top-notch game developed by Pandemic.

Ah, good idea for thread.
I heard somewhere that the idea of spawn points is no good, as it doesn't allow for the running flying clash of armies as seen in the films. I agree. The clash of it all is far better and more immersive, there's no comparison. But it can't all be that, the infantry would be over with too quickly. Wherefore I suggest that 1. respawning take place in waves, along with vehicles. Just as the droids rushed the clone trenches in number 3, the same can happen here. It would make for a marvelously improved experience, I'm sure.
Now on to the jedi. Whether they have been allotted this power or not, it stands to reason that 2. they be given the ability to block shots, with precise timing. That way a jedi can easily outmatch a single trooper at close range, and that same trooper has only to change the pattern of his firing to get hits in. A similar ability ought be given to the Magnaguards, bringing me to another point, 3. one further class is needed. I hate to be greedy on the matter, but 'tactical droid' just doesn't cut it, especially if said droid is just a standard one painted yellow stripewise. For the clones, an actual ARC trooper would suffice, changing the current ARC to a 'heavy trooper' or some such. New ARC ought be outfitted with a railgun as like Red Faction, two pistols, and a carbine with two or three missles for secondary fire. The CIS is given a Magnaguard with the staff, blocking as secondary. For the empire, a probe droid would be an interesting choice, given the ability to see night vision, thermal, and Xraywise, as well as a vastly improved if slow firing gun, in exchange for the ability to pilot vehicles and any sort of agility. The rebellion should have a sort of elite commando, capable of quick running, repairing, sniping as well as close quarters fighting, and stealing enemy vehicles. Only one player will get to select these for every four players of a basic class, on a first come first served basis.
Speaking of vehicle theft, 4. stealing an opposing faction vehicle should at the very least take longer than usual. Too many rounds I've seen have been upturned by quick dash into a vacant tank, and there should be some disadvantage to deliberatly targeting enemy armor. The aforementioned rebel commando would have no such difficulty.
5. A day/night switch, just for kicks. To add a bit of stealth, if nothing else. The lasers would glow brighter, lightsabers would be easier to detect, and anyone who's played Rouge Leader can attest to the unparalelled badassery of an At-At with searchlights. Such lights can also be mounted onto anti-air guns, or placed on a gunship. Cloud City could have a clear day or the trademark sunset, Geonosis' perpetual sundown could be made an creepy sort of dawn, an overcast Yavin, or clear with that looming red orb, I could go on. It's well worth any additional space.
6.Atmosphere. Specifically, detachted lasers flying aimlessly. In Geonosis, one will notice a fleet of lo-res gunships and droid fighters duking it out in the sky. They do nothing, have no affect on the battle, they are just there for looks. Lower them down some hundred feet or so, make them laser. Instant crossfire.
7.Trenches. Use them. Rather than making the whole affair a large scale deathmatch with teams, have defending forces take cover now and again. Get in trenches and fire away, man turrets like there's no tomorrow, make the whole five feet in front of your outpost something other than a gigantic welcome mat. Leaning abilities would go far in this respect.
8.Animation for exiting mobile spawn points. Stormtroopers rapelling down the underside of an AT-AT, a clone briefly jumping out of his TE, that's all I'm asking.
9.Make the passenger space in gunships worth it. At least, at least three passengers. I see more than that leisurely sitting about in a movie, don't tell me there's only room for one soldier. That's not worth the landing. For extra bonus, let them use their armaments and fire out of it.
10. Playable Dooku. He has lightning and a cool style. Done and done.
11. Let me play a support role once in a while. I notice, especially in single-player, that the AI is tweaked in such a manner that if you are not leading your forces at the frontline all the time, you're losing. Fine if you're an officer, even a regular soldier, but a sniper or pilot shouldn't have to lead the charge.
12. Melee attack. Make it secondary, make it hurt.
13. Two or three hit kills. I shouldn't have to pump a full clip in the back of an unsuspecting pilot to get the results I need.
14. Fix the rebel pilots gun. A sniper/shotgun carbine? I've been picked off across one two many Hoths to let that slide.
15. My favorite, supreme commander. Much like the officer class, except with the ability to give orders to CPU players and a better radius of improvment. White suited officer for empire, red ARC for republic, Nemoidian for CIS, fishman for Rebels.
16. Non-jedi heroes. We've all been over this before, but the pantheon of awesome people who fit the genre far better is too vast to ignore. Rebels get the Han/Lando/Leia trifecta, as well as Chewie and any number of others, Empire gets Fett Jr., probably the whole bounty hunter lineup as we saw, perhaps an imperial guardsman or Veers, CIS gets Fett Sr., and those two so prominently featured in that cartoon show I never got to see. Why not that assistant bounty hunter who Fett Sr. offed? Republic can have Commanders Cody and Gree, and a cameo from those commandos would be nice. Maybe even Jimmy Smitts.

That was me with the idea for intense, all out battle. You know, where the bulk of both armies are charging at eachother. Well, I don't think it would be too short...Just give each side a ton of reinforcements and maintain their spawning. Two men spawning every 10 seconds takes away the feel of the movies. It's like: You get that one, I'll get this one, and in about 5 minutes, Bob should arrive to take out the sniper on the hill...Why don't you just get the frikin army out there and start shooting the mess out of everyone??! Less lives would be lost and it would allow for more of an intense battle. I mean, c'mon, if they're going to stick tug-of-war as a gameplay mode, why not listen to me? Not that tug-of-war is bad or anything...I've just heard that there will be several more modes. And I think something similar to mine should be in there.
As far as animations go, I think that they should definately use them. There is no realism in guys popping in and out of tanks...Or dropping out of AT-AT's for that matter...Weird. Enough said, they should focus on these kinds of details.

finally, after all this time, here is my wishlist
gtpwn
=
- ALL the vehicles from the movies, this includes, A-wings, TIE Interceptor (altho saturn's roxxor, not that i don't like it) Lambda shuttles.... the list goes on
- EU (Expanded Universe) vehicles would be HUUUUGE, like the E-wing, the K-wing, Z95 Headhunters, Chiss Clawcrafts (big emphasis on this one) V-wing (L-5-R's model still kicks arse, maB they should use that one) TIE Defender.....that list goes on too
- different modes of play rather that just CTCP (capture the CP) maB some levels with specific objectives, like "destroy the Star Destroyer" or capture the enemy flagship, bla bla bla
- LESS LAGG
- weaponds that you can pick up
- WAYYY better mod tools, some that are alot more user-friendly
- the look and feel of SWBF I gone to lightspeed (better graphics, smoother gameplay, updated and remade levels...)
That should be enough for now, if anything more pops up in my head, i will add it directly.
Metal On, and hope that you all did a good job at LucasArts and Pandemic, specially you Fred

last man standing
It should be that when you are still alive, even when the spawn counter on top of the screen reaches 0(zero) and you are still alive it should play out until the last man is dead. Because there were games that I played and all my men were dead except for me and that sucks. It should be until you are dead even thogh the counter says 0. Because the counter says 0 and I was still alive.

RE: last man standing
I have a couple I posted at SS. Here they are (dunno if they've been mentioned... possibly in geek speak and I didn't see it...):
1) When playing SinglePlayer worlds/Instant Action, is it possible to make an additional menu item that allows us to just go back and select different worlds to battle in? Here is a scenario so you can understand: I come home from a long day to get into some BF. I start it up, selecting SinglePlayer/Instant Action. I select Kamino: Tapoca City and start to play. When I am done kicking the crap out of the other side a few dozen times, I have to use the Quit option just to change the planet I'm on! It would be cooler if the game had an option like CHOOSE WORLDS or something like that. Something to skip that selection of SinglePlayer/Instant Action.
2) Is it possible for some statistics to be saved? What I mean is things like a total body count of all the people I've slaughtered. Some kind of page that I can examine and determine how many people I've killed in total, whether playing Instant Action, Multiplayer or the Stories.. And possibly some other stats that might make it worth while to see how many people I've killed, awards I've won, teammates left over after each battle and how many times I've died, etc., etc.
As per the aesthetics of the game, I am happy with most of it. The mod tools were never meant to be user-friendly, as I believe they weren't really made to be released to the general public. And, if they were meant to be released, that was probably decided on in the last month of release. I believe psych0fred has just been really cool in answering questions and helping when he can. (To his honor, I have been working on a complete tutorial for modding SWBF!) And he doesn't have to! So, about the mod tools, we must live with their complexities.
Now, if only I could successfully play MP! Diet Dr. Pepper DSL connection is toooo slow!
