Missing Textures
I was making a vehicle in XSI for the DMI project and got it how i wanted it to look. I textured it decently enough for a test run, and exported it without a problem. I made it into a prop temporarily to see how size and texture were and tried to place it ingame. In ZE, the ship showed up, but it was missing it's texture. Both the .msh and texture are in the MSH file, so i don't know what went wrong.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what i might do to get the texture back?

Re: Missing Textures
The dimensions of the texture have to be a power of 2. 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, etc.

Re: Missing Textures
I checked my .tga, and it is 512 x 512. I also checked the r-something compression thing. it's clear too. I'm quite, er, bamboozled at the moment.

Re: Missing Textures
Open the .msh in notepad or hex editor and make sure you really applied the texture. Push Crtl + F and type in .tga and tell us if you can find it.

Re: Missing Textures
yeah it was there. I'm not sure what the problem was, but re-exporting again seemed to work. My color came back
...at least until I tried making it into a vehicle. Now it just isn't there anymore, with no explaination in the logfile.
edit: it probably has to do with me forgetting the hardpoints. Do you need a hardpoint if the character isn't going to be shown at all inside the vehicle?(i'm not including weapons or damage hardpoints for simplicity)

Re: Missing Textures
Wrong. If he's not there, no hardpoint is needed. And you can call whatever you hardpoint want to be. Hardpoints will hardly crash a map or vehicle..
If you want no visible pilot, make this line in the odf:
Or you'll have one.. No hardpoint, that line, and you're clean on that.
Edit:
My post was wrong too
No line in odf means no pilot. If you want one, these lines shall do:
If you want no visible pilot, make this line in the odf:
Code: Select all
VehiclePosition = "common.vehiclepositions.pilot"Edit:
My post was wrong too
Code: Select all
PilotPosition = "hardpointname"
Pilot9Pose = "sit/ride/stand-animname"- Silas

Re: Missing Textures (missing ship now)
so i do need a hardpoint then? I'm a little confused.
btw, I just took the odf for the rep jedi fighter and replaced the geometries. I also took out the weapons, chunks, and the details about smoke for damaged ships. I assumed that's all i would need, but i dont know...it just won't show up ingame

RLE Compression should be off, not on.Silas wrote:I checked my .tga, and it is 512 x 512. I also checked the r-something compression thing. it's clear too. I'm quite, er, bamboozled at the moment.
