Re: Force Unleashed
You'd need a uber-fast machine to run the amount of physics processing they're doing. That's probably why they have it as next-gen only. I could see it now, folks whining as to why it can't run on a 2.4ghz AMD Althon

Re: Force Unleashed
Sad News from Gamespot for us Wii'ers
But there is some good News:
That'll take a huge amount of fun out of this game! Darn. This is a great demonstration for the game's Euphoria technology, which is available only in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.
But there is some good News:
the Wii version will have some levels that aren't in the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions. In the Wii version, we saw a Jedi temple level, but more importantly, LucasArts demonstrated how the Wii Remote is used for lightsaber attacks while the Nunchuk is used for Force powers. The designers also showed off duel mode, which is a head-to-head battle where two players can pummel one another using Force powers. Duel mode will have nine arenas and plenty of unlockable characters, and the goal is to kill your opponent three out of five times. It can make for a fairly wild battle, considering that players can kick in temporary invulnerability, or use a Force unleashed boost to double their Force powers. A timer runs down throughout the entire affair, and if it ends, the game goes into sudden-death overtime.

Re: Force Unleashed
ACK! Shame about Euphoria, but how certain is this? Guess the Wii isn't strong enough then... If it's true, I hope the AI wont be too dumb...

It's from Gamespot.com. They're legit. That was from an article where the author was at Lucasarts and Played the game.

Re: Force Unleashed
The lack of Euphoria (and DMM, I think) for the Wii is a real shame, but the gameplay differences sound like they'll make up for it pretty well. Still, just from how beautiful the game looks and from how cool Euphoria and DMM are, this is one time in my life where I'm actually leaning more towards the Xbox side of things than the Nintendo side.

Re: Force Unleashed
Euphoria was never developed for Wii. I'm pretty sure there's a version of Havok for Wii, but after reading up on some Euphoria articles the 360 and PS3 are the only ones with the gusto to run it.

Re: Force Unleashed
Looks incredible! Especially DMM, very interesting. Metal would bend like metal, I love that. Would be awesome if Rockstar Games input DMM into GTA IV. Too bad I won't be able to play TFU though, might have to work to buy meself a PS3.

Re: Force Unleashed
Actually, it is for PS2. And PSP. And DS. It's just that the Wii, PS2, PSP and DS versions will be very, very dumbed down. Krome Studios is handling the ports to the first three, while n-Space is doing the DS version.Taivyx wrote:Nope, PS2 can't handle it's graphics and physics.

Re: Force Unleashed
Expect the AI to fly like stiff wood when it happens. And if there's no DMM or Euphoria, how is the player going to proceed with the gameplay if a steel blast door is needed to be bended/force pushed/destroyed?

Re: Force Unleashed
I'm guessing pre-scripted animation, like most games still use. Maybe even a cutscene. I'd call it a step backward, but in reality it's more like the PS3/360 versions are a step forward.

Re: Force Unleashed
Ah, that sums it up. Still, I hope it will be a great game as Star Wars will slowly faint away after its released. If I won't be able to play it, I might as well watch it at youtube if anyone ever bothered to upload the whole story and gameplay just like how I "finished" Assassin's Creed.

Re: Force Unleashed
I'm not too concerned about the Wii's version - I know it'll take a graphical hit, so to speak, but as long as the lack of DMM and Euphoria doesn't affect gameplay (which Euphoria might, but I'm on the fence as to whether it's really an issue), it should still top the 360 and PS3 versions in my mind. Every game I've played that has a pseudo-viable reason for integrating motion controls (Harry Potter, DBZ) - even if the game's premise and story is pretty weak - has only added to the game experience.XxDepredationxX wrote:Ah, that sums it up. In my opinion a game is a game. it will be great. In this case exeptionally great.
