Yes; it's a tradeoff to not wearing glasses. There's a slider built into the device to adjust the barrier (or to simply turn off the 3-D), but by and large you will need to keep it in a fairly regular position (i.e. not at extended-arms-length or not right in front of your face).trainmaster611 wrote:Ah, that's what I was looking for.Maveritchell wrote:(there is a built-in filter in the screen)Wouldn't that mean that you would have to be looking at the 3DS from the right angle and at the right distance from the device for the effect to work?

Okay, that cirque d' soleil was just dumb. E3's not about entertain--wait.
Also, Portal 2 gameplay: Click! Also has commentary about it, so it's pretty sweet. The blue light things and the paint blobs are epic.

Don't ask how I got info from the E3 2010 Press Kit (I was not the only one, fyi
) but here's a list of things that were found there:
I know they say screenshots. They're all .zips and I'm not killing my last few GB for you guys.
And to prove Paper Mario isn't fake:

Edit: And, because I like you guys...

Most of what you showed on the list has already been posted on Kotaku. Thanks though.

So with all this motion controller movement any other lefties out there feel like they'll be alienated?
I'm left-handed and I fear that devs will forget to have to option to mirror the character in game for it to properly work and display thus forcing us once again to play right handed, which now actually doing the actions would feel weird.

Crysis 2 Gameplay
Click!
It's absolutely beautiful.
Also, 5:40. That just makes that game look that much more fun.
Also, I think that's 360 gameplay, and those graphics are some of the greatest I've ever seen, I've never even seen a PS3 game like that.

Yeah, not sure about Skyward Sword either. It looks ok character-wise (except for the bokoblins, what the hay?), and I'm sure I can get used to the style used (after all, I loved the wind-waker) but I have a gut-feeling they're gonna make it too easy and "for the whole family".
Emphasis on "fun", not on dungeons. For all the Spongebobs out there that's great news, but I love a more Majora's Maskesque game. Not that MM was hard, but kinda gloomy.

I agree. What makes a Zelda game a Zelda game is the atmosphere, and they tend to go in the darker spectrum. I mean, the series has two nightmare fuel pages on Tvtropes.The_Emperor wrote:... but I love a more Majora's Maskesque game. Not that MM was hard, but kinda gloomy.

I saw a bunch of good stuff on E3. I'm definitely getting a 3DS when it comes out! And I really can't wait for TFU2 now!
On the downside, BFIII did not appear as per some people's expectations, but that didn't surprise me in the slightest.

I can say that while that is a concern of mine, I'm not too worried about it. I mean, look at Wind Waker; for all the complaint about the graphics, it was one great game, and on top of that, Ganon got the most brutal death in the series after an epic boss fight (makes me wonder how they got away with a rating below Teen). The follow-ups (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks) while they weren't as good, were still enjoyable, especially the endings.The_Emperor wrote:Yeah, not sure about Skyward Sword either. For anyone who may be interested, shows in depth gameplay and new features (such as delimbing and decapitation). Very cool stuff.

Oh, it looks like you're forced to have dual sabers so far. IMO that's pretty lame, I was hoping for more saber customization, along the lines of just one, 2, or a dualsaber.
EDIT: Oh, wow. The gameplay literally looks like nothing has changed. So far TFU2 looks like a no-go.

I agree, looks like MOTS for the most part. However, considering I bought TFU1 for the Wii (which was not good at all), I'm probably going to get TFU2, and get it for PC.

Re: E3 2010-Official Thread for Speculation and Discussion
since the only console i own is a Wii, I wanna say as a lover of Zelda, Skyward sword just failed to move me, honestly the only thing I could not stop thinking about through the entire trailer was why did Links pants look like he had shoved some slingshot bullet seeds into them....
Of course it might have been because I watched it after the GoldenEye Trailer, and I have never been more excited for a game to be released (or in this case rereleased =P). Yes i know to some it seems, Why bother remaking it? it probably won't be the same anyways, but was Starwars any different when they released the anniversary series of the original trilogy? Most (not all however) of those who are against the remake are more than likely those who never grew up playing it, or hated the game when it came out for what ever reason.
Though i don't mean to sound like I'm totally denying any chance that those against this remake are wrong. All I'm getting at is whether or not it is a remake, the trailer itself sparked something I haven't felt since I saw TFU way back when it was announced at E3. If this remake does workout it could bring back an era of FPS competition. honestly I see little competition in the gaming market these days compared to back in the 90's-early 2000's. If you didn't think big you might as well go home in those days. These mind set is how Nintendo set up their company, and look where they are now! They can create 100's of games just using one common character and it still can be a smashing success. As long as new ideas are brought forth, and Improvement is made on older ideas to make them seem new and exciting, there is no limit to what Nintendo can do.
Now look at the COD franchise. COD released MW2 and after a few months everyone i knew who was so psyched for the game to come out that they bought it on day one, ended up saying the game sucks and threw it away, or left it to collect dust and become a coaster. Now i know that COD is a title and not a company, but all they seemed to add (though i have no true opinion for i have never played it, so correct me if I'm wrong) was new weapons, a few maps, and another campaign mode. Now yes so did SWBF2 when it came out, but SWBF2 did not leave the game to die, they created the mod tools and left the imagination to the true reason games are made, the players. MW2 was set to fail from the start, for COD has its head wrapped around the fact that they make a game, it will sell. Nintendo says, Let's improve, add more maps, new enemies, a greater back story, and an exciting new environment that is not too extremely corny. MW2 says, just throw some of that, hmm looks good i guess *release*. Sooner or later COD is going to loose its hold on the gamers of the world who solely bought MW2 without so much seeking the reviews it collected (and if you did read the reviews before you bought the game, many Kudos to you my friend!)
All I'm really trying to say here is that, I'm waiting for a game to reignite the competitiveness in the world of videogames. There needs to be a game that throws all others aside, a company that demolishes the rules that other developers take as set in stone. I'm waiting for the greed to leave, and the imagination to take place. Back then, graphics were not the only thing that made a game worthy to play, I don't care if my game looks worse than the solitaire on Windows XP, as long as it has a feeling of difference, a boundary that it left shattered on the doorstep then I feel it is worthy to play. Too many companies are trying to copy what made a game great, and not improving it. The only companies I have experienced doing this nearly extinct feat is Sega, Nintendo, and Lucas Arts. EA just repeats itself indefinately. look at battlefield 1942, COD, MOH. Though MOH as a series is a brilliant idea and i love it to death simply because each one has found the indifference I was speaking about (since it follows different stories of the MOH recipients, EA needs to find another outfit to try, instead of wars that involve the whole earth, and the countless others it creates that die instantly as soon as another title from the same series comes out. Many games these days are loosing uniqueness for the thought of easy money, simplicity, lack of originality, or a combination of all 3. All I'm really getting at is I am hoping that if not GoldenEye, then for another game to remove the circle of life that seems to have taken control on many development teams and game makers. Though this in all may just be nostalgic thinking and a fantasy that may never come true.
I apologize if this offends or aggravates anyone, my only intention was to say the world of gaming from my point of view

I agree. Revolutionary game breakers are increasingly rare nowadays, but a new one would be just what we need. But then again, a game does not need to re-write the rules in order to be good.

Huh? First off, it was about a minute of gameplay -- hardly enough to judge on considering this is the absolute first gameplay reveal we've seen. Secondly did you miss the clearly better targeting system, faster and more fluid combos and Force Mind Trick?Fluffy_the_ic wrote:Oh, it looks like you're forced to have dual sabers so far. Actually... Yeah, I did miss the targeting system, hehe. Although we've seen a little bit more gameplay than this, and I did say so far. I mean, some new things look cool and all, like Force Mind trick, but from what we've seen it doesn't look like much has changed, though I guess I really should've waited to say that until we see some more.Teancum wrote:Huh?
