Importing Multiple Textures with Meshtool+XSI?

Post by Sky_216 »

Well, here's a little problem I'm having. Meshtool imports UV maps for models, which is really useful...except for the models with more than one texture (ie most buildings). Is there any way to apply the correct textures to certain locations without having to re-UV everything in XSI? Ie add all the textures and they all end up in the right spots?

The first texture you add goes on in the right spot (though it also goes everywhere else). From there, you can just select that polys that use the other textures and apply the appropriate texture to them.

It's funny that you should ask this, since Mav just showed me how to do this the other day. The Island Heal tool works great for selecting the individual sections. Check it out under the XSI help as well as a topic called "Applying Texture Projections."
