Chunks..

Post by thelegend »

Is it actually possible to add a lowrez to a spaceship chunk and is it also possible to delay the disappearance of a chunk model?
Thank you for any answers/solutions.

1. I've never attempted to add lowrez geometry to a chunk, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. The best thing to do here is try it and report back to us with the results.

2. EntityGeometry has a ChunkLifeTime property that probably does what you want, but I don't know what you're working on. I couldn't find a working example in the assets either.

Thank you for the reply,
1. I have tried to add a lowrez mesh to a chunk like to all other objects but it doesn't seem to work.
2. I added this line below the other Chunk parameters but they still disapper too fastly.

But I think the map itself causes this because (most probably) the engine has to keep more than usual. Other stock frigates (their chunk models) disappear so fastly as my custom spaceship. But it's not a big problem anymore.
Anyway thanks for your help.
