This is correct.kinetosimpetus wrote:It's an F-302 from Stargate
Does one of you know where these things have their guns? My reference pics show the missiles mounted on the underside, but no gun barrels anywhere...

It's a Minecraft person! Also, that thing is going to lag the game really bad because of all of its polies.

Way too many unneeded edges, muscular anatomy is way off.
Looks like captain shepherd to me.

How's everybody doing?
This is not for SWBF, but I really wanted to share my first finished model with the community that inspired me to learn 3d modelling.
So I got into a gaming study and our first assignment for 3d modelling was "create a castle". So here's my castle, subtitled "You'll truly feel like 'I'm king of the castle' while sitting on this.".

Nice.
The textures and lighting could use some work though.

I want to improve them but well, you know, deadlinesANDEWEGET wrote:The textures and lighting could use some work though.
But I did find the cause of the missing shadows on the roof, a tiny duplicate directional light.

Reminds me of a technicpack build with solar panels on the roof.
Very nice.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread 5th Edition
Funny story about this; even though I kept trying, I couldn't manage to get any modelling done inside Maya. So even though the assignment specified that Maya should be used, I decided to take the risk and model the entire thing inside Blender.
So while I was working on this at school and had already imported the model into Maya, the teacher walked by. So, with my but cheeks pressed together I told him that I couldn't manage modelling inside Maya and asked if it was okay that I modeled the entire thing inside Blender.
His reaction: "Don't care."
And then he looked at my screen (it was untextured back then) and said "oh well, it looks okay". Then I told him that I hadn't used textures yet. He did a double take and said "Oh man I love you."

Thanks and fiodis, that roof is actually composed of slates that are held in place by iron nails, all individually modeled. I went nuts on the details, because the teacher said that he wouldn't care about efficiency on this first model.Fiodis wrote:Reminds me of a technicpack build with solar panels on the roof.Very nice.

Oh, I know they didn't really have solar panels in the Medieval ages. That's just what it reminds me of.
Also the door with the heart reminds me of the half-moon you sometimes see on outdoor privys.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread 5th Edition
At the end of the day, as long as they are good models it doesn't matter where you model them.
Unless you're doing it in Sketchup and not making models for Google Earth...well then... then you're doing it wrong. :u
I really love Blender at this point, and would only learn other software so I can import, not model in. I'll probably learn how to use XSI now that we have ANDE's tools. Being able to import props and weapons properly will be nice.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread 5th Edition
Hello, i just joined a team who work on a great project: a spiritual successor to the star wars battlefront series in Cryengine3.
Ok, less talk, more art, the first model i'm doing for this project is a GONK droid, here's the AO render and the high poly in viewport and the recquired wireframes:
Any critiques, comments, feedbacks?
