Re: zeroedit wont work now
I assume you're running XP, so ZeroEdit would take your desktop path to be
So, if it's in your desktop folder, your desktop folder is inside "Documents and Settings", therefore breaking the "no space in file names" rule. Try moving it straight into C:/
Code: Select all
C:/
Documents and Settings/ (this is most likely why)
UserName/
Desktop/

Don't use "netspeak". It's annoying and hard to read. Please try to type clear - you'll get more help if we can easily understand you.

Butdon't try to be a smartass either. C: is your hard drive, not "My Computer". It is also where the readme TELLS you to place the Mod Tools. You might be low on HDD space. Describe the error to us. We could help if we actually knew the problem.

Re: zeroedit wont work now
I dunno that you'll see a problem with ZeroEdit, but you'll definitely have trouble munging. The mod tools should be installed to a folder where there are no spaces in the path to that folder.
For example
BAD:
C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\TEMP
GOOD:
C:\Games\Tools\BF1_tools

Re: zeroedit wont work now
C:\Lucasarts\BFBuilder
That is the directory you are told to install it to by default. Please do that. If that doesn't work, then you might have a question. If you haven't followed what the readme recommends, then you are at a bad starting point to ask for some help.

Re: zeroedit wont work now
that must be the problem with munge
i'll try that now. but i wonder why zeroedit won't work on my laptop? because it's vista? i've already made a topic for that a while back and no one could figure it out. i don't have lucasarts folder because i had reinstalled swbf1 a custom way since at the time i had 1.0 and needed to get custom maps to work.

sorry is that a new rule or something because i have always done that and this is the 1st time i have been told not to. i just tried moving swbf1 mod tools to computer hard disk but it said file i dont have permission to do that. it has 45 gigabytes free and my mod tools takes up 12 gigabytes. There is only 1 user on this laptop so its not like i'm not an admin.

If you don't have a Lucasarts folder, create one.

My BfBuilder works fine if the folder is plunked right into the C/: drive.

And that's fine, as long as you don't have a problem. The issue arises when someone has a "problem" but hasn't followed the original instructions.breakdown wrote:My BfBuilder works fine if the folder is plunked right into the C/: drive.

It's not a rule, but frankly it drives me absolutely bonkers seeing people be so lazy with the language, and yes it makes it harder for me to read. I'm asking as a courtesy to your fellow members.sorry is that a new rule or something because i have always done that and this is the 1st time i have been told not to.

Re: zeroedit wont work now
well now i moved mod tools back to computer hard disk but it wont let me rename it. i need 2 rename because it is SWBF Mod Mods. i'm pretty sure i need to get rid of the space in order for it to work, but it says it is being used by other program or person, but i dont have it open in anything! well im gonna reinstall swbf mod tools into C:/ u say i ned to create a lucasarts folder, is that neccesary in order for it to work?
