How difficult is it to create a custom HUD?

Post by YouJediJunkie »

Some months ago I saw some screenshots here on the forum where someone had a custom HUD. It was a happy surprise, because I had never imagined that it would work for the game. Exactly, how difficult is it to create one? Is there a tutorial somewhere that explains the steps accurately? Thanks in advance. :clone:

No tut, but RepSharpShooter could tell you, as he made the one your probably taking about.

1. Reskin the shipped HUD. This isn't the best but it does have alot of possiblitys for change, but your somewhat restricted by the shape of current HUD model.

2. Model a new one. No idea what all this would intail.

A hud msh is the same as any other msh you model, except it gets stuck on the front of the screen as a hud.

In common/mshs/ replace weapon_backdrop.msh with whatever you modeled, and munge a new ingame.lvl

You can move this around like a floating icon in common/hud/pc/1playerhud.hud or w/e
