Saving does not Work... [Solved]

Post by Blade »

Aight, I have my model for the DMI mostly modeled (texture will come later, unfortunately...), but when I got to save, it says that I can't because it is a Shared File... it says that only the main user can save it, even though I AM the main user (and I'm on that user settings thing, not the default). I have tried deleting the LOCK file, but it just remakes itself... and until then, I can't close XSI or the changes to my model are gone. If anyone has had this problem before and knows how to fix it, PLEASE, it would help a lot, as right now I'm pretty... mad... about this :x.

Thanks in Advance

I've never seen this problem before, but are you on Vista?
Can you at least export your scene through Crosswalk?
If so then you should be able to shut it down and restart then import your scene again.
If you are on Vista try right clicking on the XSI launch shortcut and "Run as Administrator" when you restart.

Nope, I'm not on Vista, although I wish I were, so I could blame it :?.

I'll triple check to make sure I'm on the right user, and then I'll try doing what you said.

EDIT: Odd... it's working now. What a shame, I would have liked to find out what was wrong, just for the simple pleasure of showing my computer who's really in control :P. I'll post if I figure out what caused it, but I think it happened when I exported it through Crosswalk... I don't have a LOCK file for any of the .exp's that I haven't exported...
