Middle Ages for BF1!

Well the BF2 modders have their Middle Ages project going, so why not get one for BF1 going?

I've already had a demo map posted on SWBFfiles, but that was just a demo. If we can get some people with moddling abilities and/or better skinning that mine :oops: that would be nice. Maps can be made with simple retexturing and resizing of existing props, like the tusken tents for camps and the Tatooine walls for castle walls.

If you wish to contribute please post.

What unit MSH does this reskin?

Edit: I think this thread will pickup when the filefront crisis is over.

im working on a side for one of my own medieval maps so ive made 5 skins and some weapons

Doesn't this seem rather redundant, considering BF1 and BF2 use the same file types? If I were you, I would collaborate with the BF2 group instead of recreating what they have already done and wasting a lot of work for nothing. (you can create a better product if you work together).

we sort of are, im sharing some skins with them and here, and we will probably be usng the same assets, but i see your point.

One era should be Humans vs Gammorreans (I will work on some new skins.) the other Humans vs Humans.

Unit classes:
Humans:
Swordsman
-Sword Attack
-Sword Defence (did you get that saber defence to work?)

Crossbowman
-Crossbow
-Flaming Arrow
-Knife

Builder (Or Mason?)
-Build
-Knife (or short sword)

Spearman (Or javlen thrower?)
-Throwing Spear
-Spear Melee (More rapid attack but less damage [if possible])
-Knife (or short sword)

Assassin
-Throwing Knife
-Modified Crossbow?
-Knife (or short sword)

Gammorreans:
Warrior
-Axe Attack
-Axe Defence

Rockthrower
-Rocks
-Axe (or short sword)

Builder
-Build
-Axe (or short sword)

Sorcerer
-Magic Kill
-Magic Build/Heal
-Fire from the Sky

I also hope to use the Ewok catapults if they work.

sorry i havent been around i was on a 3 day vacation, and about that why the Gammorreans? are we doing a realistic map?

Certain maps can be based on real things, while others will be the fantasy type.
Also with some maps we can have one era be Humans vs Humans and the other era Humans vs Gammorreans (and/or other things...)

ok, but im not sure about the swords on other units besides swordsman baecause its a 1 hit kill

What you do is make the unit health real high. In my middle ages demo map the swordsmen's health was set at 3000 and thus it was a 3 hit kill.

id rather modify a gun so it plays the swing animation

Oh, like the sword MSH and melee Anims with invisible bullets so it look like a melee attack?

yes that is easier than making all units have more health and all wepons do maore damage
