Hey Rekubot.. not to be nitpicky or anything, but on the Clone Marine you posted, could you do some minor adjustments (for color/contrast purposes??

If you look at the stock reference pictures for the marine, you'll notice that the legs are a slightly darker shade of gray than the knee pads or boots (which are almost white.)

The skin that you've created has the legs and knee pads/boots the same color, with only minor detailing to the boots and knee pads. I think it would look a little sharper if you were to darken up the legs (leave the knee pads and boots the way you have them!), and the codpiece should be the same colour as the legs..

You have some really great detail in your skins, I just think that this would make them look a little sharper, and for a movie mod, this would help with the extra contrast especially when moving. Just an idea.

Why the [why is this word not allowed? Why can't we just cencurate 1 or 2 letters of the word instead of saying word not allowed or diet dr.pepper?] do I have a second warning?? I know it has been their for a while, but I really can't remember why I ever got it, the only warning I can remember was my first warning back in July.. :/

I've been thinking about that to. Does any1 know if we could do this with effects or if we would need to apply that contrast to the skin itself? Or should I just edit the lightning on the map for this matter?

Btw. I've been thinking about the name of the new Geonosis map:
Geonosis: Mission Zero
or
Geonosis: Zero Hour (or Battle?)

Sorry Lord DooFi.. I got tired of setting new color settings for almost every single word, so I dumped the style, and from now on I use my old style again ;)

well i would like to say that lucasarts has bad cd's
my swbf dvd-rom and republic commando cd-rom are both D.E.A.D
i don't get it because my rc cd-rom is all but scarred so.
and swbf has one scar but even that didn't stop it of working so why should it not work now?

@MasterSkywalker: If you could right up a big long list about what objects and ODF's you are using then I'll happily edit them a few at a time and then send 'em to you. All you'd have to do then is simply paste the code over what it was originally.

@Everyone: Now here's a question that I've had in my head for a very long time. Think about the E-5 blaster rifle, the DC-15S blaster carbine and the E-11 blaster rifle for a second. In Episodes IV, V and VI, the E-11 blaster rifle acts as a sort of pistol, with a very slow rate of fire. In Episodes I, II and III, the E-5 and the DC-15S act the same way, only in certain scenes both of the weapons are seen firing on full auto. This can only mean one thing: dual-firing modes. So, are we just going to be using full auto all the time? Or will we have a slow rate of fire as the primary fire and a full auto that quickly overheats/has less ammo?

I may have made myself a little harder to understand than I meant. The skins are great, but I think that the leggings need to be darker. Keep the same color for the kneepads, and boots, but the legs themselves kind of blend into them at the moment. If you look at the pictures I posted (hard to see, they're a little small) you'll notice the Marines have a more blue-gray coloured leg, with a white-gray kneepad and boot.

But, you're on the right track with contrast as well. If you're planning on filming these as individual episodes/webisodes, higher contrast as a general rule would definitely make things easier to see for all.

BTW, nice cockpit screenies.. I'm amazed at the interest in this... mod... movie... whatever you want to call it, it looks like its coming together quite fast, and from what I've seen, it looks great! It's too bad that this kind of collaboration doesn't happen on every mod - they would all be done in a quarter the time, and the quality would be absolutely stunning. (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge to all you modders out there!)

About the fire rate:
I'll keep it full auto all the time, but don't worry, I really limited down the amount of bullets (exept the SBD, but at his firerate, can you compare his 2000 bullet with 200 bullets for a normal rifle). If would be annoying when your in a big battle with blaster bolts flying everywhere, with a rifle thats on semi-auto and you need to press the fire button every time you want to launch one single bolt.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Let me just warn you though that the amount of ammo each weapon has will be canonized by me ;). I was never too sure how much ammo the B-2 Super Battle Droid Wrist Blaster has; it can only be unlimited if the blaster overheats, so I think that's what I'll do for them.

Anyway, does that mean I get to make Coruscant? Pleeeeeeease! :P

Edit: Okay then, how's this? I had to shorten the boots a little to allow some grey below the kneepads.

Perfect! I think that looks incredible! I just wish I had half the talent that you modders seem to have with skins and maps etc.

I'm more of a visual learner, and reading through the manual for Zero edit and the mod tools is going to take me forever. I wish the developers would create videos on how to do it like the devs for Battlefield 2 have. It's much easier to follow a video step by step than flipping back and forth between the huge manual that comes with the mod tools. If only someone here could hold my hand and walk me through the process... :wink: Oh well..

maybe i should refer to xwingguy with some collaboration he could get his map finished in half the time.

i mean putting the hud from the tri fighter on the laser orbs of the la at ;-)

@raz: actually the only manual you need to be reading at the beginning is Getting Started wich leads you good through the most importaint steps of modding. The other documentations you go through when you have got the basic understanding you need.
The thing about talent is that some are born with it, all right, but others work at aquiring it. (meaning everyone can get talented) And to train the talent in order to maintain it is just as importaint to the gifted ones as to the learning ones. ;)

briefing scenes are good but that requires a little work
the hangar bay and docking thingy is also very lucrative.
so we actually need a photo with the enviroment.

Kk But me and Linus did already decided this about the Coruscant (Jedi Temple) map: We DON'T do the actual temple, but we do the hangar and the docking bays outside (Those bays when we see Bail Organa arrive at the Jedi Temple during Order 66 )

Heh, I was referring to making Space Coruscant. But nevermind :P. But why won't we include the temple? It was shown in the movies after all.

I'll send you it soon along with that DH-17.

Yeah, briefing scenes would be cool. The thing is that quite a few people don't have up-to-date PCs and so we might have trouble finding people to film it.

i have been thinking about the cr-25 troop carrier from republic commando maybe you can get it modelled for a space map or maybe even as a prop for landbattles because it's a ship that would replace acclamators in tight spots ;-)

maybe reku could do this
but if it's not important than you can just drop the whole idea :D
