its not so much the terrain that makes a map good, its the originality, if the map is original and like nothin seen before it is normaly good. Dont worry about what the community want just worry about what you want. remember to keep it original and fresh. New content always help originality. either way its good to have another mapper at this site

I normally tend to like a map better if it has new sides, so keep that in mind... I just am a lil bored with the default ones.

yea new sides are cool. I like maps that have a ton of stuff going on all over the map, not in just one spot, and also places where you can go commando and sneak up on people

hmm, as far as beginning mapping, it would be good to pick one of your favorite shipped maps and make a map off of the atmosphere in that. Not sure whats better, good level design, good atmosphere, or new units.
