Help with the bounty hunters mod

Post by ShadowChaos »

Hello,
I need some help with the bounty hunter mod. I have very basic experience in using zero editor and the odf, msh ect files.
The manuals that came with the mod tools (especially the jedi one) are terribly vague.
Can some one tell me step-by-step of start to finish instructions on how to add the characters files and actually getting to use them in a game.

Thank you very much If anyone could help me with this I would REALLY appreciate it.

(by the way for those of you who might remember. I finally got a good graphics card for using zero editor =] )

The FAQ/Everything You Need thread should cover most everything you need. Unless you have specific questions, we don't know where to start. There aren't any start-to-finish tutorials on how to do custom sides as ODF editing alone is to complex for a step-by-step.

(502)GEN.york,

yes it was a new card.
If you tell me your computer brand or mainboard I can tell you the best one. But if you have a pcie x16 the choice is easy. Card are still coming out for that expansion slot. if you have only pcie x1 or 4 or a just plain pci then it's a little harder.

That Should be able to run it.
Here try this. To make sure that you have installed it correctly.
1. download mod tools from here. http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... s_PC;57352

2. After it is done install it to the default location (usually the root of your C drive or main drive.) C:\BF2_ModTools

3. browse to C:\BF2_ModTools\data\_BUILD and run Modtools VisualMunge.exe. It will want you to choose a three letter world name, description and such. Make sure you choose a game mode also. (conquest ,CTF ect.)

4. now when VisualMunge finishes, It has created your level in C:\BF2_ModTools\data_(your three letter name for your world here. I'll just use data_SWB as an example).

5.browse to C:\BF2_ModTools\data_SWB\_BUILD and run Modtools VisualMunge.exe form inside that directory. You'll notice that all of the creating option are grayed out and now you choose from Image
select the sides and choose common. and the check the common box.

6. Now select munge.

7. When it finishes browse to C:\BF2_ModTools\data_SWB(your three letter name for your world here. I'll just use data_SWB as an example). and run zeroeditor after it launches if you jest see a blue sky or and black screen click on the camera button in the top right corner and choose set top down view from the menu that pops up. then you should see your level.

done! if you need anymore help please ask me. It took me along time tio get the hang of it. So I would be gladd to help others.

To make a side, go to assets/sides and copy the side for the faction you wanna mod into your sides folder. Then go back to assets/sides and copy the Common side into your sides folder too. After that, go to the correct LUA and by the team you copied a side for, put a dc: in front

Ex:ReadDataFile("dc:SIDE\\imp.lvl",

Get it?
Once you've done all of that, you go into your side and start jumlbin' away!

1)data_abc\\common\\scripts\\abc\\(which ever lua you want.) then follow redgroupclans tut thing.
2) yes, that version of gimp should be fine
note: lua stands for the file extension. its really just a script though
